In this short treatise, historian Keith Pruitt examines the idea of the United States as a Christian Nation. First, examining the intent of the founding fathers and then their religious beliefs, Pruitt shows that the founders wanted to guarantee religious freedom while refusing to impose a state religion. The current movement of Christian Nationalism is further examined to attempt to determine what it is that these right-wing religious zealots are trying to achieve in this nation.
