Sally Edwards didn't have many friends at Gravendale High School. Whenever Sally tried out for sports she would be picked on by her classmates because she was a tomboy. Sally had buck teeth and matted hair and slurred her speech. She also wore the same clothes to school every day. Sally was poor and was being raised by her alcoholic grandfather who didn't have long to live, maybe weeks at best. When her classmates got wind of the passing of her grandfather the following week they started picking on her pretty hard.

John Edwards was an avid collector of antiques. He would travel all over the United States to find unique antiques and anything else that most collectors would pass on. John was happy with his collections but he was looking for something his friends would say find intriguing. John found himself traveling through a little town called Pleasantville. The town was so small you could throw a rock from one end of the town to the other. John just about missed the town and the rare antique he had been waiting to add to his collection for so long.

Michael was the youngest in his family - just eight years old - and loved to watch his favorite TV show called Dark Shadows. Michael's older brother David and his sister Susan would constantly sneak up while Michael was watching Dark Shadows in the dark and scare him. Even though his brother and sister did a good job scaring him, what really scared Michael the most was the vampire Barnabas Collins.

Billy and Susan loved to hear their father read stories to them every night at bedtime. Susan told her brother, Billy, that the stories were for little kids. Susan said, "Billy I love dad, but I wish he would read scary stories to us instead of stories like Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland. They were okay when we were younger, but we are so much older now." "I feel the same way. I like it when mother and father go out to dinner at night so we can watch scary movies together," replied Billy.

Halloween had finally arrived. It was Mary's 16th birthday. Her parent's had finally decided she was old enough to have a sleep-over at their house. But she was only allowed to have two of her best friends spend the night after the party. Mary's little sleep-over and the conjuring up an old urban legend called "Bloody Mary" would prove fatal for them all.

During the late 1800's Tom Sanderson's farm was a great place for fishing. Tom was a very friendly man that liked to give tours in his cave to anyone that fished or hunted on his farm. But Tom's kindness would eventually do him in. One day, like any other day, Tom approached two men that were drinking and fishing in his pond. Sam never had to worry about money for many years, but Sam's money making machine was about to run dry. Sam's ego and money got the best of him one day. Sam was drinking with some of the local farmer's down at the local tavern. Sam pulled out his wallet and started counting thousand dollar bills on the table in front of them.

It was their love for sailing that brought Jack and Karen Billings together. Anytime they had free time, they could be found aboard their most prized possession, the Marlow Explorer. "Why don't we throw a Halloween party?" Jack volunteered. "The weather looks perfect for sailing, and it'd be a great way to get all our friends back together." Karen smiled at the thought, remembering the parties from their younger days. "That's a great idea," she replied.

Susie Jackson loved playing dress up in her deceased Aunt Sarah's attic in front of the antique mirror. Susie's father inherited her sister Sarah's Victorian home after her disappearance. Susie always thought her Aunt Sarah was a school teacher. Sarah had no idea that her Aunt practiced Black Magic in the attic. Legend has it that the Sarah bought an antique mirror from a Witch. The Witch told Sarah the mirror has powers of evil. This excited Sarah because she too was a practicing Witch.
