He's known for such works as his Alex Rider and Diamond Brothers series, the specially-commissioned James Bond and Sherlock Holmes books and television series Foyle's War. Anthony joins Robin Morgan in the Audible Studios to talk about his latest novel, Magpie Murders.

Juliet Jacques and Rebecca Root, author and narrator of Trans: A Memoir, join Robin Morgan in the Audible Studios to discuss the process of writing and narrating this work. Both women also candidly share their personal experiences undergoing gender reassignment services.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Damian Barr, British writer, columnist and playwright, who released his novel, You Will Be Safe Here, in 2019. Barr was born in Scotland and attended Lancaster University. Barr's first article ran in The Guardian in 1996, and since then he has written for titles such as The Sunday Times and Big Issue. Barr's first book was published in 2006 and was the first book to focus on the quarter-life crisis in the UK, titled Get It Together: How to Survive Your Quarterlife Crisis.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Tom Bale (the pseudonym of David Harrison), author of titles such as One Dark Night and Skin and Bones. His latest title, The Stone Song, ventures into a brand-new genre for him. Harrison, born near Brighton, has worked in retail, in a factory, as a claims handler for an insurance company and as a househusband, but his ultimate goal throughout life was to become an author. We spoke to David Harrison about The Stone Song, his determination to become a writer and his life as an author.

Joining us at Audible Studios is household name thanks to Channel 4's Gogglebox, June Bernicoff. June, alongside her husband, Leon, joined Gogglebox from its very first season in 2013, until 2017. Unfortunately, after a short illness and complications, Leon passed away just before Christmas in 2017. After his passing, June decided that she couldn't return to Gogglebox alone. She appeared on the show as a partnership: Leon and June. She couldn't face appearing as just June. Instead, she took the opportunity to tell the story of Leon and June.

Lupton studied literature at Cambridge University, graduating in 1986. After graduating, she wrote for Literary Reviews and was invited to join the Royal Court Theatre. During this time, Lupton won a television play competition and earned herself a job as a screenwriter. While her husband, a doctor, was working all hours, Lupton decided that as an author she could write around her kids being at school. So, after much work, her first novel, Sister, was published. We chatted to Rosamund Lupton about her career as a writer and author and how she creates such thrilling reads.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Heather Morris, an author whose debut novel, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, was a huge success. Morris grew up in New Zealand and has split her adult life between there and Australia. Morris worked in the Social Work Department at Monash Medical Centre in Melbourne from 1995-2017. During this time, Morris decided to pursue her love of storytelling and enrolled in a professional scriptwriting course. In 2003, her life and career path changed. She was introduced to Lale Sokolov, upon whose story she based The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

Joining us at Audible Studios is the author of the Sunday Times best-selling debut novel The Trouble with Goats and Sheep, Joanna Cannon. She has recently released Breaking and Mending, a memoir of her life as a junior doctor. Cannon walks us through the wards, from attending her first postmortem to sitting beside a patient as they passed away. The small acts of kindness and connection that intersperse hospital life taught Cannon that the heartbeat is not the only essential part of a human being - emotional care and mental health are also critical.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Bill Bryson, one of Britain's best-selling nonfiction authors. Bryson has captivated the hearts and minds of Britons with his genial character, general cheerfulness and amazing ability to simplify overwhelming science into something that can be understood by all. Not only has Bryson given us all the ability to inform ourselves on the most complex of topics, but he provides a wry and uplifting perspective on travel in all regards, from the Appalachian trail to small mining villages in England.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Louise Doughty, an English fiction and non-fiction writer, a playwright and a journalist. Doughty studied for an MA in Creative Writing. As her writing for newspapers and radio began to garner more attention, she wrote and released her first novel, and hasn't stopped since then. One of her novels, Apple Tree Yard, was adapted into a BBC series under the same name.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Kerry Daynes, an English forensic psychologist and consultant who has worked as an expert witness and within the family law courts as well as opening her own private practices. Daynes has released her new book, The Dark Side of the Mind: True Stories from My Life as a Forensic Psychologist. Kerry Dayes has worked in maximum security prisons and secure hospitals, working alongside some of the most complex and challenging criminals and victims of crime.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Anne Griffin, debut author of the next great Irish novel, When All Is Said. Griffin’s novel depicts an Irish farmer who orders five drinks over the course of one night to toast each of the five most important people in his life. His life is laid bare, in its loves and feuds, regrets and triumphs, all through the five people who have left him behind. We spoke about her inspiration for the book, her literary career so far and what her plans are for the future.

Joining us at Audible Studios is Candice Carty-Williams, senior marketing executive at Vintage books and author of Queenie. Queenie is a relatable, darkly comic take on a Jamaican-British woman living in London trying to recover from a messy breakup, gain some attention among all the white middle class peers at her newspaper job and, most of all, fit into two different cultures. We spoke about her motivations for writing Queenie, her career, the lack of diversity in publishing and what she is planning on doing next.

Joining us in the Audible Studios to discuss her first book, When the Dogs Don't Bark, is forensic scientist Professor Angela Gallop. Angela also talks to us about the importance of advancements in forensic technology, her own intriguing career, including her involvement in many high-profile criminal cases, and the recent trend for professional memoirs.
