From the "American Agatha Christie" comes a spectacular mystery equal to The Mystery of Roger Ackroyd and Witness for the Prosecution.

From "The American Agatha Christie" comes a rollicking insightful tale with fun and suspense along the way: a mystery and romance revolving around a health resort with different points of view about what is most appropriate as a mission and will keep it solvent and profitable.

A charming mystery, romance, and more set in an old traditional house in New York City in the late 19th century with servants and all, much like Agatha Christie mysteries set on the 1920s in England. Rinehart was called "The American Agatha Christie" by The New York Times and LA Times, and Rinehart outsold her in their mutual lifetime until Rinehart died in 1958.

This third Rinehart murder combines a mystery with a boy-girl romance, an old lady stepping out, political payoffs, and more by a woman The New York Times and LA Times both call “The American Agatha Christie” and who outsold Christie in their mutual lives.

Considered "The American Agatha Christie", Rinehart outsold Christie in their mutual lifetime through 1958 when she died. Her first book, The Circular Staircase, may have paved the way for The Mysterious Affair at Styles as the second does Agatha's Tommy and Tuppence series, which combined a thriller and mystery with a love match.

Rinehart's first American mystery published in 1908, reminding Agatha Christie fans of her first country-house English mystery, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, published 12 years later. This book has servants, a secret room, multigenerational goings-on, and more like Styles did.

War is a boy carried on a stretcher, looking up at God's blue sky with bewildered eyes that are soon to close; war is a woman carrying a child that has been wounded by a shell; war is spirited horses tied in burning buildings and waiting for death; war is the flower of a race, torn, battered, hungry, bleeding, up to its knees in icy water; war ...
