In this awe-inspiring lecture, Dr. Hawkins reveals that peace can't really be accomplished in the world, that it is an inner state. Peace and freedom are what you are and when you let go of trying to control things and give God advice, it puts you into a space where it's irrelevant. Dr. Hawkins explains that the intellect is really our problem, as it is very fast and takes credit for what happens and presumes to be the causal effect. If we can get beyond thinking in terms of a "this" causing a "that", then you don't need to make up a false explanation of why things happen.

The Question and Answer Series is a collection of three events, recorded in 2011, that opens with a few remarks by Dr. Hawkins. He then answers questions from the audience relating to the information presented in his books and lectures on consciousness research and spiritual realities, as well as other spiritual matters and current events.

Dr. Hawkins begins this lecture by saying that our spirit will be where it must be as a consequence of that which it is. Everything is exactly precisely where it has brought itself through its own decision. He states: "There is nobody paddling the canoe except yourself!" However, with the progression of consciousness, the "I" is less and less limited and ultimately becomes the source of Knowingness itself.

In a light and humorous style, Dr. Hawkins once again delivers a lecture worthy of your collection. By making us laugh at our egos and our own humanness, we are better able to accept and understand why we are the way we are and the solutions that he gives to transcending our current state of consciousness. He explains that we can transcend the ego and reach the higher states of consciousness not by battling it, spending 30 years in psychotherapy or meditating forever, but by understanding its origin, its nature and its function. The ego then begins to dissolve on its own through compassion and acceptance because when you shine light on darkness, the darkness begins to disappear.

When this prevails, one is well on the way to Enlightenment. What keeps the ego in place? It is the pleasure it gets from its positionalities. The willingness to surrender the gratification and pleasure of the payoff of the ego's positions is the sacrifice. Dr. Hawkins also informs us that spiritual work is a lot easier that we think!
