This story picks up a year after the end of The Return of Tarzan and finds Tarzan and Jane together with a son, beginning to build a life together in Africa. But of course, Tarzan doesn't stay out of danger for long, and soon his previous enemies are back to haunt him and kidnap his son. As the villains carry out their evil plan, Tarzan has to rely on his jungle upbringing and team up with the beasts of the jungle to rescue his beloved family.

Tarzan of the Apes is the fascinating story of a family who tries to survive in the jungle after being stranded in Africa. The violence of nature causes the family’s baby to be orphaned and left to adopted by apes. The apes raise him as an ape child would be, learning to swing through the trees on vines and talk to the other inhabitants of the jungle, but Tarzan always knows he is different. When he is an adult, his already-strange world is flipped upside down by the arrival of other humans in his jungle.

In the sequel to Tarzan of the Apes, Tarzan has given up on marrying Jane Porter and is quickly dissatisfied with his life among human society. After facing several humans who scheme to kill him, he decides to return to the jungles of Africa to be in the environment he was raised in once more. Along the way, he hears rumors about a lost city of gold hiding among the trees and sets off with newfound friends to pursue the treasure, unaware of the dangers surrounding the lost city.

The story begins in the midst of World War I, in the middle of naval attacks between the armies of various nations. On a submarine that had been captured in the English Channel, the combatants from several countries fight for the ownership of the vessel. After a series of unfortunate circumstances, the submarine is sent off-course into the South Pacific and then is even further rerouted to Antarctica.

John Carter is a veteran looking to make his way in the world after the Civil War. After finding gold in Arizona, he is chased into hiding in a cave that turns out to house a portal to Mars. He quickly discovers that Mars is inhabited by many intelligent lifeforms who have used advanced science to create a welcoming natural environment on the red planet. John is soon drawn into a tribe of nomadic Martians and quickly rises in their ranks due to his otherworldly strength. Eventually, John’s group gets into a dispute with a rival tribe.
