A contemporary woman finds herself immersed in the body of a ninth-century runaway, after accidentally engaging the cyclic properties of the fifth dimension. She must find a way to survive and bide her time until a rescue can be arranged, or else, be lost to the ages.

In the title story, set five minutes in the future where you not only have a credit score but also a dating score, a woman who’s been banished from all dating apps attends a weekly help group with others who have been “banned for life,” and finds herself falling in love. In “Backwards,” a twist on Benjamin Button, a woman reconnects with her estranged father as he de-ages ten years each day they spend together. In “Welcome to Oxhead,” all the parents in a gated community “shut off” when the power goes out.

Zee was literally company property until the daring mission that brought her freedom and the legal status as a human being. After learning of the alien ability to destroy planets and teleport warriors on command, the elected leadership forsakes the legion and orders them to disband.

John Walker had a surprise in mind for his wife. His satellite radio had a surprise in store for him. The voice on the radio, a person named Zell, offers to solve all of John’s problems for him. In return, John has to agree to a small, insignificant payback.

Insignificant, of course, is a relative term, especially when you are dealing with the Devil.
