Hello Listeners! Does Free Speech really still exist in this country? Do you believe we can we talk about anything? Can followers of Jesus Christ discuss ANY issue, topic, controversy, or dysfunction of today without anger and walk away with their unity in Christ still intact?

Welcome to "YOU CAN TALK ABOUT THAT?” the podcast where we believe any topic is up for discussion. As believers in Christ Jesus our unity is rooted solidly in Him alone. So with that belief as our foundation, we should be able to discuss anything with an open dialogue, a sober mind, holding fast to scripture, and maintain a spirit of peace and unity. I'm your host, Eric, and here at YOU CAN TALK ABOUT THAT?, we're diving into a world of limitless topics. I will, by God’s grace, attempt to use the Bible/Biblical principles, theology, history, political science, social science, and special guests, to examine any topic. We will do deep dives and have light-hearted banter to explore together what God in Christ Jesus would have for us; as we sort out living in this world while longing for our true home. Whether you're here for biblically based content, thought-provoking discussions, or a fresh perspective on taboo topics, you've come to the right place.

In this episode, Eric Davis explores one of the hardest questions many Christians face: Should you leave your church?Drawing from his own experience of leaving the church he attended for more than 40 years, Eric examines the biblical distinction between the Church and a local congregation, discusses when perseverance is appropriate, and when unhealthy or abusive leadership may make leaving necessary. This thoughtful conversation offers practical wisdom, theological insight, and encouragement for believers wrestling with this deeply personal decision.

  • Should Pastors Podcast?
    Jun 17 2026

Should pastors host podcasts? In this thought-provoking episode, Eric Davis explores the biblical role of pastors as shepherds and asks whether regular podcasting helps or hinders that calling. Drawing on Scripture, historical examples of shepherding, and his own experience in ministry, Eric examines the responsibilities of pastors to know, care for, protect, and guide the flock entrusted to them. He argues that while podcasts can be a valuable teaching tool, they may also compete with the relational, personal work of shepherding God's people. The episode challenges listeners to consider the difference between teaching, platform-building, and true pastoral care, while encouraging church leaders to evaluate how they invest their time and attention.

    Key Topics:

    • The biblical image of shepherding
    • Jesus as the Good Shepherd
    • The responsibilities of pastors and elders
    • Teaching versus shepherding
    • The role of media and podcasts in ministry
    • Faithfulness in local church leadership

  • Church & Money: A Discussion with Andy Yoo
    Feb 16 2026

Money and the Church: two topics rarely discussed. Andy and Eric dive into this important topic. They start off talking about the dangers and opportunities in the church when handling money. They then talk about how to prevent leaders in the church from being tempted to misuse money. While their perspectives on how to accomplish this may sometimes differ, their heart is the same: Love for the church. The conversation transitions into discussing the book "Budgeting for Healthy Churches" by Jamie Dunlop. They go chapter by chapter and give their thoughts on Mr. Dunlop's suggestions on how to use money wisely for a healthy church. Money in the church is a difficult subject, but this discussion will help you build some frameworks in your church and life on how to use it for the glory of God.
