Micah Nelson details the journey that began when he was asked to produce and album for his father, Willie Nelson. The result is Last Leaf on the Tree, a melding of Willie's ageless voice and guitar, Micah's experimental touch, and collaborators and songwriters from both of their generations. In episode 2, Micah opens with how he and his dad both feel like freaks in their own worlds, which leads to how the album sounds like the two of them together. Willie sings Beck's "Lost Cause," and Tom Waits's "Last Leaf," and Talia Schlanger recites a poem by Tom Waits.
