In this 2 Minute Podcast episode, we ask: Who is Meredith Broussard?
She is a journalist, researcher, and professor challenging one of the biggest assumptions of the digital age: that technology is always smarter, fairer, and more effective than people. Broussard coined the term “technochauvinism,” the belief that digital tools should automatically replace human judgment.
Drawing on experience in software development and investigative reporting, she examines how AI and automated systems can inherit and amplify biases around race, gender, and power. Through her writing, including Artificial Unintelligence, and her work in journalism and documentary film, Meredith Broussard has become a leading voice for accountability, fairness, and skepticism in the race to build the future with code.
