    • From Grafton to Sunrise: Katie Brown on Sport, Surfing, Self-Belief & Creating Your Own Timeline
      Dec 24 2025

What does it really take to go from a small country town to the biggest moments in Australian media — without losing who you are along the way?

In this powerful and refreshingly honest episode of What She Said, we sit down with journalist, presenter and surfer Katie Brown to talk about sport, media, women’s representation, burnout, courage, and the moments that quietly shape a life.Growing up in Grafton, NSW, Katie originally dreamed of becoming a PE teacher. What followed was a career she never could have planned — from reporting in Hervey Bay, working inside the NRL, covering elite sport, global events and entertainment, to becoming a familiar face on Channel 7’s Sunrise. Along the way, she’s challenged stereotypes, navigated male-dominated spaces, and launched her own platform Real Talk Media, dedicated to elevating conversations around women’s sport and athlete identity. This episode goes far beyond career highlights. Katie opens up about the real side of working in media — the pressure, the adrenaline, the comedowns, the criticism, and the constant learning curve. She speaks candidly about imposter syndrome, body image, female athletes’ health, and why representation in sport still has a long way to go.We also dive into the personal moments that shaped her most — including heartbreak, learning to slow down, discovering surfing as a form of meditation, and what happens when your job no longer gives you routine but demands presence. Katie reflects on self-worth, public perception, social media criticism, and the importance of surrounding yourself with people who keep you grounded. And because this is What She Said, there’s plenty of humour along the way — from celebrity interviews with Snoop Dogg, Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds and Michael Bublé, to dating apps, potatoes (in all forms), tattoos that never existed, and some very revealing Would You Rather questions. In this episode, we talk about:• Growing up in a small country town and why sport was a lifeline• Breaking into media when you “can’t be what you can’t see”• Working in male-dominated sports environments• Women’s sport, body image, injury, and athlete health• Why so many girls stop playing sport — and how that’s changing• Burnout, adrenaline crashes and finding balance outside work• Surfing as therapy, meditation and mental reset• Interviewing A-list celebrities and what fame is really like• Navigating public criticism, tabloids and online commentary• Dating, boundaries and learning to love yourself again• Why you don’t need to dim your light to stay relatable• Creating your own timeline — personally and professionallyKatie’s story is proof that success doesn’t come from following a straight line — it comes from curiosity, courage, resilience, and backing yourself when the path feels unclear. Whether you’re interested in journalism, sport, women’s empowerment, mental health, or simply love honest conversations with people who don’t take themselves too seriously, this episode will stay with you long after it ends.Follow & Watch Katie Brown:📱 Instagram & TikTok: @katiebrown📺 Watch Katie on Channel 7’s Sunrise🎙️ Keep an eye out for the return of Real Talk MediaAbout What She SaidWhat She Said is a podcast built on real conversations, big laughs and meaningful stories — hosted by women who aren’t afraid to ask the questions everyone else is thinking. • Big Brother Australia - Grand Finale 2025 | What She Said
      Dec 8 2025

It’s done. It’s aired. We’ve watched it. And Big Brother 2025 has officially wrapped! 🥳 The winner? COCO! Coco Loco herself takes home the $135,000 cash prize — and honestly, the only real question is: how fast can that hit the bank account? 🛒

We break down the final five as they tumbled out one by one:
First Allana, then Bruce, then a very surprising exit from Colin… leaving Coco and Emily battling it out for the crown 👑

But BB couldn’t resist a last-minute twist, announced just hours before the finale. And surprise surprise — Allana drove away with something shiny, new… and with four wheels 🚗 (look, we’re not car people, but yay for her!)

Tonight’s episode served up the season’s highlights — and yeah, it looked amazing. There were great moments… and like many fans have said, we’re hoping for more physical challenges next year. Bring on BB 2026! 💪

As we roll into Christmas, this wraps up our reality-TV madness for 2025. Thank you for all your comments, chaos, and laughs across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and even Spotify. You made recapping this season way too much fun. ❤️

Until the next reality-TV disaster we decide to follow — Merry Christmas, stay fabulous, and we’ll see you in 2026! 🎄✨

      • Big Brother Australia - The Final Countdown | What She Said
        Dec 7 2025

Australia has spoken — and apparently the Big Brother chair is now a giant… vagina?
But that’s not even the wildest part of this week’s episode.

Tonight, we break down the “double eviction” that wasn’t really a double eviction, why the show has been boring AF but the evictions have been chef’s-kiss perfection, and how poor Finny got tricked into thinking he was getting a letter from home (savage, Big Brother, SAVAGE).

        We talk:
🔥 The snoozefest week in the house
🔥 Big Brother telling Colin to “go mop” because even he’s got nothing
🔥 The fishbowl and washing machine getting more screen time than the housemates
🔥 Why Connor’s eviction BROKE US
        🔥 The $25,000 stack-or-steal twist
🔥 Who actually has the hunger to win
🔥 Why Emily’s nervous poos have slowed down
🔥 And why we think Colin might just take the whole damn thing

Plus, the final five are dressed for the Last Supper… and we’re convinced Big Brother still has a twist up his sleeve (please let it be a chaotic dinner eviction 👀).

        We also discuss:
✨ Who’s playing the smartest game
✨ Why the public is not vibing with Alana or Emily
✨ Why Bruce and Coco are still hanging in there
✨ And how we would absolutely apply for Big Brother next year… if they didn’t only recruit actors and models 😂

Tomorrow is the grand finale — will it be a bang or a dud firework?
Join us as we manifest CHAOS.

See you for the finale! 💥
