  • The Gospel of John- That You May Believe: John 4:43-54

What can a desperate father in the first century teach us about faith today? In John 4, a royal official travels nearly 20 miles on foot to find Jesus, his son is dying, and he has no other options. His faith is real but imperfect. He believes Jesus can heal, but only if He shows up in person. Jesus corrects him, challenges him, and then sends him home with nothing but a spoken promise. What the man does next changes everything, not just for his son, but for his entire household.

This passage is one of the most practical and encouraging stories in the Gospel of John. It speaks directly to anyone who has ever felt like their faith was too weak, too small, or too flawed to matter. It also carries a powerful message for fathers and spiritual leaders who feel unqualified to lead the people they love.

Key topics covered include the nature of imperfect faith and why it still matters, how Jesus responds to weak or conditional belief, what it means to have both tough and tender faith, why a father's faith has the power to influence an entire family, and how to take practical steps of spiritual leadership even when you feel unprepared.

This message draws from John 4:43 through 54, with connections to Matthew 8 and the faith of the Roman centurion, as well as examples from Acts showing how household faith shaped the early church. Reflections from Matthew Henry's commentary are also included to help frame what it means to pray boldly while holding loosely to the outcome.

Whether you are a parent trying to lead your family, someone wrestling with unanswered prayer, or a believer who wants to grow in faith, this message offers both challenge and encouragement. God does not require perfection. He requires movement. Imperfect faith, acted upon with honesty and humility, is exactly the kind of faith He blesses.

  • The Gospel of John- That You May Believe: John 4:1-42

What does it mean to be truly satisfied? Most of us are chasing something, a better job, a bigger house, a new relationship, a fresh start, believing that the next thing will finally fill the emptiness. But what happens when you get it and still feel hollow inside? John chapter 4 speaks directly to that cycle and offers something radically different.

In this message from John 4, we explore the story of Jesus and the woman at the well. Jesus travels through Samaria, a region Jews avoided entirely, to meet a woman who comes to draw water alone at noon, in the heat of the day, because she is hiding from shame. What unfolds is one of the most personal and powerful encounters in all of Scripture. Jesus crosses every social, racial, and gender barrier of His day to offer her something no bucket could ever hold: living water that never runs dry.

This message covers the meaning of living water and what Jesus meant when He offered it, how Jesus responds to shame with compassion rather than condemnation, why the woman came to the well at noon and what her isolation reveals about our own hiding, what true worship in Spirit and truth actually looks like, how the woman's testimony transformed an entire community, and what it means to stop running to empty buckets and start drawing from the only source that truly satisfies.

If you have ever felt like your faith is something that happened once a long time ago but does not feel alive today, or if you are carrying shame you have never brought into the light, this message is for you. Jesus is not asking you to clean yourself up before you come to Him. He is already at the well, waiting for you to show up exactly as you are.

Keywords and topics covered include: John 4, woman at the well, living water, Jesus and the Samaritan woman, overcoming shame, finding satisfaction in Christ, what is true worship, Spirit and truth, testimony and faith, how to deal with emptiness, Jesus as the source, confession and healing, Bible study John chapter 4, Christian sermon on identity, gospel message, encountering Jesus, spiritual thirst, and finding purpose in God.

  • Be The Church- Meaningful Service
    4 Oct 2026

Being the church means more than attending a service. It means living out faith in a way that serves others, reflects the love of Jesus Christ, and advances God's kingdom. Romans 12 gives a practical picture of what this looks like, calling believers to present themselves as living sacrifices, renew their minds, and serve one another using the gifts the Holy Spirit has given them. Pride is one of the biggest obstacles to meaningful service, showing up either as judgment toward others or as the false belief that we have nothing to offer. Every believer has a role in the body of Christ, and when any part is missing, the whole body suffers. Genuine love, as described in Romans 12, is not performed but active, extending even to those who have hurt us. Serving without being connected to God's Word, His people, and His Spirit leads to hollow and exhausting effort. True joy in service comes when we do what God designed us to do, submitted to His people and empowered by His Spirit.
