Walk Worthy — Episode 9: The Hook of Temptation

Temptation rarely shows up looking like a trap. Sometimes, it looks like exactly what we want. In Episode 9 of Walk Worthy, Chad Lail dives into 1 John 2:15–17 to explore the dangers of temptation, the pull of the world, and the choices we make when our desires compete with God's will for our lives.

Scripture warns us not to love the world or the things in it. John specifically points to the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life—three powerful influences that can draw our hearts away from God.

Like a hook hidden beneath the surface, temptation can disguise its consequences. What looks satisfying in the moment can become a trap that compromises our faith, clouds our judgment, and leads us further from the life God has called us to live.

Chad challenges us to look beyond the immediate attraction and consider where our choices are leading us. Are we pursuing what the world promises, or are we pursuing what God desires for us?

The truth is, not everything we want is good for us, and not everything the world offers is worth the price we may pay.

The things of this world are temporary, but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

So how do we recognize the hook before we take the bait? How do we resist the pull of temptation and keep our hearts focused on Jesus?

Join Chad for an honest, Scripture-centered conversation about temptation, spiritual discernment, and the importance of choosing God's will over the temporary pleasures of this world.

The bait may look good. The temptation may feel strong. But the cost can be greater than you ever imagined.

Learn to recognize the hook. Stand firm in your faith. Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Walk Worthy. Resist the Hook. Pursue What Lasts.

  • Walk Worthy Episode 8 : Pursuing Holiness
    21 Oct 2026
Walk Worthy — Episode 8: Pursuing Holiness

What does it really mean to pursue holiness? Is it simply about following rules and avoiding sin, or is it about becoming the person God has called us to be?

In Episode 8 of Walk Worthy, Chad Lail explores the meaning of consecration—the intentional act of setting ourselves apart for God and separating ourselves from the things that are unclean and pull us away from His purpose. Through passages including Philippians 4:4, 1 Peter 2:9, 1 Corinthians 11:1, Colossians 2:6–7, and Romans 8:9, Chad examines what it means to live as someone who belongs to Christ.

Scripture reminds us that we are called to reflect Jesus in our daily lives, walk firmly in our faith, and live according to the Spirit rather than the desires of the world. But pursuing holiness isn't about pretending to be perfect. It's about surrendering to God, allowing Him to transform our hearts and minds, and making intentional choices that reflect our relationship with Jesus.

What are you allowing into your life that is pulling you away from God?

What needs to change so you can walk more closely with Him?

Holiness is more than what we walk away from. It's about who we are walking toward. Join Chad for a challenging, Scripture-centered conversation about consecration, spiritual growth, and what it means to live a life set apart for God's purpose.

The call is clear: Don't simply say you follow Jesus.

Let the way you live reflect Him.

Walk Worthy. Live Set Apart. Pursue Holiness.

  • Walk Worthy Episode 7 : Why God Allows Suffering
    14 Oct 2026
Walk Worthy — Episode 7: Why God Allows Suffering

Why does a loving God allow suffering? If God is good, why do we experience pain, loss, heartbreak, and tragedy?

And where is God when life doesn't make sense?

In Episode 7 of Walk Worthy, Chad Lail takes on one of the most difficult questions of faith: Why does God allow suffering?

Looking at the opening chapters of Genesis and the powerful story of Job, Chad explores the reality of a broken world, the pain of human suffering, and the difficult questions that arise when our circumstances don't line up with what we believe about God's goodness.

Genesis helps us understand how sin and brokenness entered the world. The story of Job challenges us to wrestle with suffering even when we don't have all the answers. Together, these passages invite us to look beyond our immediate circumstances and consider the bigger picture of God's plan.

But this isn't just a conversation about pain. It's a conversation about hope, redemption, and the character of God.

Even when we cannot understand why suffering happens, Scripture points us toward a God who has not abandoned His creation. From the brokenness introduced in Genesis to the ultimate redemption made possible through Jesus Christ, God's story is moving toward restoration.Maybe you're walking through a difficult season right now.

Maybe you've questioned God, struggled with unanswered prayers, or wondered why He allowed something painful to happen in your life.

Those questions don't have to be the end of your faith. They can become part of a deeper journey toward understanding, trust, and hope.

We may not always understand our suffering, but we can look to the One who meets us in it—and who has promised that suffering will not have the final word.

Join Chad for an honest, Scripture-centered conversation about suffering, faith, and the ultimate redemption found in God's plan.

Walk Worthy. Hold on to Hope. Trust the Redeemer.
