 Waking the Whispers is an Open Mic podcast meant to elevate the voices of every day artists to inspire you to create. This podcast is for those of us who feel the call to create, and who long to tap into the deep sense that there’s something that connects all of us, to share belonging through the conduit of artistic expression, creativity, and inspiration. Each episode features an amateur artist reading or performing a piece of written art followed by a discussion with them about their art and what inspires them. Their works and reflections, will inspire you to connect with your creativity and express yourself to the world in whatever way makes you unique.     Rae Reed is a trans masculine social worker, writer and storyteller who has applied his value of improving cross cultural engagement to all of these roles. Rae works at a refugee agency in Chicago, has told stories at the Steppenwolf Theatre and The Moth and his nonfiction work has been published in an anthology and various newspapers across the US.
