À propos de ce contenu audio

Welcome to Twist Happy Hour — where cocktails and conversations collide in the best way possible.

Hosted by two gals who love a well-shaken drink and an even better story, Twist Happy Hour is your invite to sit back, sip something delicious, and eavesdrop on the kind of chat you'd have with your funniest, most unfiltered friends. Each episode is 15 to 20 minutes—perfect for your coffee break, school pickup line, or post-work wind-down.

This isn’t a how-to bartending show. It’s happy hour with your besties—where no topic is too weird, too deep, or too random. Grab your drink (boozy or not) and join us as we sip and chat our way through five recurring categories:

🍸 1. Booze Culture
We nerd out over spirits, bar trends, and everything in between. From “why are cocktails $22 now?” to “is this canned cocktail actually drinkable?”—we’re here for the highs, lows, and hilarious moments of drinking culture. No gatekeeping. Just good drinks, fun facts, and maybe a little gossip.

Episodes might include:

  • What bartenders really think of your go-to order
  • The rise of the mocktail movement
  • Rating celebrity liquor brands (yes, we have opinions)

🌍 2. Travel
Most of our best stories start with “so I was on a trip...” From dreamy destinations to total travel fails, we’re sharing the good, the bad, and the jet-lagged.

Episodes might include:

  • Our favorite underrated travel gems
  • Airplane etiquette debates (to recline or not to recline?)
  • Travel horror stories (and the cocktails that helped us recover)

🌟 3. Celebrity Lore
Not gossip. Not news. Just vibes. This is a pop culture rabbit hole with a cocktail chaser. We explore the weird, wild corners of celebrity culture that make us laugh, raise eyebrows, or wonder what’s really going on.

Episodes might include:

  • PR relationships: stunt or soulmates?
  • If celebrities were cocktails...
  • Weirdest celebrity urban legends (and why we hope they’re true)

📰 4. Current Events
From viral TikToks to “Wait, WHAT?” news headlines, we’re sipping through the stories lighting up the internet. No serious debates—just curious questions and chaotic commentary.

Episodes might include:

  • Trend or Trash: what’s hot this week
  • Girl Math vs. Boy Math
  • Florida Man and other wild headlines

🎲 5. Never Have I Ever / But Did You Die? / What’s Up With That?
This is our storytime and confession zone. We unpack travel regrets, ask each other wild questions, and deep-dive into whatever random topic we can't stop thinking about.

Episodes might include:

  • Never Have I Ever: Travel Edition
  • What’s up with bachelorette trips lately?
  • “Wait, THIS happened in the news?!”

Why listen to Twist Happy Hour?
Because you want fun, smart, and slightly unhinged.

You love travel but don’t pack capsule wardrobes.

You have big opinions on celebrity breakups and Girl Math.

And honestly, you’d rather laugh through the chaos of the world with two ridiculous women than hear another monotone news podcast.

We’re here for the group chat energy. The deep dives and the dumb stuff. The cocktails and the chaos.

New episodes drop every Thursday.

      Dec 18 2025

This week on Twist Happy Hour, we’re shaking up a Pear Winter Cooler and talking about the one thing no creator wants to experience: getting banned from TikTok. Keryn walks through a simple ginger-and-cinnamon pear drink you can make boozy or zero-proof, while Kate explains how she went from steady growth to opening the app and finding her account suddenly deactivated with no way to appeal. From unclear community guidelines to shifting algorithms and the stress of creating in 2025, it’s part cocktail chat, part social media reality check.

    • Political Bromance: What is it about Zohran Mamdani | Twist Happy Hour Ep. 18
      Dec 11 2025

This week on Twist Happy Hour, we’re stirring up a cranberry rosemary holiday sipper and digging into one of the strangest political storylines of the year: Zoran Mamdani’s rise, his surprise meeting with Trump, and what all of it looks like through the eyes of our own teenagers. Keryn and Kate compare notes on their very different kids, wrestle with NPR-induced doom spirals, and ask why a millennial socialist sounds a lot like what voters say they want on affordability and housing. It’s cocktails, culture, and politics with a side of “wait, what just happened in New York?”

    • Has PDA Gone Insane? A Target Aisle Makeout Story | Twist Happy Hour Ep. 17
      Nov 13 2025

This week on Twist Happy Hour, we’re keeping it cozy and a little spicy. Karen walks Kate through an easy apple cider gin cocktail you can shake up on a weeknight, then we pivot to a very specific modern dilemma: adult PDA in public. Yes, the Target cereal aisle incident is discussed, analyzed, and properly side-eyed. Consider this your fall drink how-to paired with a frank conversation about boundaries, etiquette, and why some moments are better saved for, well, anywhere but aisle seven.

Watch the Vodcast on YouTube or listen to the Podcast on your favorite app — same episode, two ways to hang with us.

Cocktail of the Week: Apple Cider Gin

A simple, crisp fall sipper you can build from pantry staples.

      • 2 oz gin (London dry preferred; Hendrick’s works too)
      • 2 oz apple cider (spiced/mulled is great)
      • 0.5 oz fresh lime juice
      • Ice for shaking
      • Pinch of ground cinnamon or a cinnamon stick, for garnish

Add ice to the shaker last so you don’t dilute early; shake 15–30 seconds until very cold; strain over fresh ice in a rocks or highball glass. Optional: garnish with a light cinnamon sprinkle or stick.

Pro tip: batch the citrus and cider ahead; keep the gin separate and shake to order.

      Episode Highlights

      • Fall Flavor Fast Track: Apple cider meets gin with bright lime and a whisper of cinnamon
      • Skill Builder: Why ice goes in last, what a real chill feels like, and easy garnish swaps
      • Pantry Chat: Using what you have, avoiding 42-ingredient recipes, and making tiny syrup batches
      • PDA Debate: Where is the line for grown-ups in public spaces, and why context matters
      • Target Aisle Storytime: The cereal section makeout that launched a thousand opinions
      • Table Manners 2.0: Same-side seating, hand-in-back-pocket, and the booth exception rule

      Chapters

      • 00:00 Crafting the Perfect Apple Cider Cocktail
      • 06:57 Public Displays of Affection: A Modern Dilemma

      What You’ll Hear

      • Keryn’s no-stress cocktail walkthrough, from glass choice to shake timing and garnish
      • Kate’s real-time mixing, minor spills, and proof that good drinks don’t require bar-pro levels
      • A quick riff on syrups, batching, and keeping the home bar lean but useful
      • The case for sipping gins in fall and when to choose London dry versus cucumber-forward styles
      • A candid PDA conversation: what’s sweet, what’s awkward, and how age and setting change the vibe
      • The Target anecdote in detail, plus how cameras, kids, and common sense factor in

      Sound Bites

“Sweet is fine. Dry humping next to the Honey Nut Cheerios is not.”
“If you can’t do it in front of your kids, maybe don’t do it in public.”
