In this episode of Throttle Cast, Dave and Grant visit Cameron Davis and Andy Sumner at DC MotorWerks to tour their automotive shop, which specializes in the DaimlerChrysler era of Mercedes-Benz. Inside the shop, the hosts highlight several unique projects, including a plug-and-play M273 V8 engine swap into an '09 E350, Tyler Hoover's 1955 Mercedes 300SL Gullwing undergoing a full engine rebuild, and a 103,000-mile 2003 Lamborghini Murciélago gated V12 exotic receiving extensive engine work. They also showcase a finished "OEM plus" manual transmission swap on a CLK63 AMG Black Series and a highly custom, designo-build E63 AMG wagon slated for its own manual conversion.
Moving outside to the shop's "manual row," the tour continues with a C63 Coupe styled after a Black Series and a custom V12 SL600 (R129) that utilizes a European adapter plate to connect the engine to a BMW Getrag manual transmission. The team wraps up the episode by displaying rare pieces from their private inventory, highlighting a highly collectible Calypso Green 1997 "La Costa" edition SL500, a triple-gray 2002 SL500 with the desirable SL2 package, and a pristine, 37,000-mile 2008 E63 wagon that will eventually become a shop manual swap project.
