Episode 56: The Shape of Your Environment
What has your environment taught you to accept, and do you still agree with it?
In this episode, I explore how what we become accustomed to influences our expectations and the person we become. I reflect on my growing appreciation for solitude and what it means when relationships we still value no longer fit the way we want to live. Changing those relationships can bring guilt, especially when nobody has done anything wrong.
But recognizing that an environment needs to change doesn’t always mean we can leave it. I also consider what’s possible when circumstances keep us somewhere we’ve begun to question, and how we can make room for ourselves while working toward something different.
