We LOVED this one! Chibiusa’s mysterious connection to the future pulls the Sailor Guardians into her mind, where the ruined Crystal Tokyo, the Black Moon Clan, and her fear for her mother all start coming together in a way that seriously felt like Sailor Moon meets Inception. But the big moment is finally meeting Sailor Pluto, and she instantly made an impression on us. Between the dreamlike trip through Crystal Tokyo, Chibiusa learning to trust Sailor Moon, and all the new questions about the future, this episode made the season feel bigger and more exciting than ever. We’re officially very ready to see where Sailor Pluto and the Crystal Tokyo story take us next.

ABOUT SAILOR MOON’S COSMIC POWER REWIND

Sailor Moon’s Cosmic Power Rewind is our episode-by-episode rewatch of the original Sailor Moon anime, from the first transformation all the way through Sailor Stars, with the movies along the way.

Each week, Matt and Maggie revisit the story, compare the Japanese version with the English dubs, talk about the differences, hunt for references, and revisit all the characters, villains, and magical moments we love. And yes, we have plenty to say about the wonderfully weird DiC dub, too.

We’re a married couple who love 90s and 00s nostalgia, good laughs, and geeking out over the stuff we grew up with. Whether Sailor Moon was part of your childhood or you’re discovering it for the first time, come along for the adventure.

Sailor Moon’s Cosmic Power Rewind is part of Hopefully Awesome, where we keep things positive, have fun, and celebrate the stuff we love.
