In this episode of the Heal/Create Podcast, Courtney explores how to navigate fear and anxiety by learning to recognize the sensations in our bodies without immediately believing the stories our brains create around them. Through somatic practices, self-compassion, and the work of Viktor Frankl, she shares practical tools for regulating our nervous systems, meeting our fear with unwavering hospitality, and finding a sense of safety even when the world feels overwhelming. By learning to hold our fear without being controlled by it, we can expand our capacity for creativity, deepen our connection with ourselves, and make more room for the lives we truly want to create.

What if the artist inside you isn’t something you need to discover, but something you need to gently mother back to life? In this episode, Courtney explores the connection between creativity, safety, authenticity, and emotional healing—and why the parts of us that feel inspired can offer clues about who we truly are and what we’re here to create. She shares how to nurture your artist self without letting creativity become an escape or a source of validation, so your art can become the free, life-giving gift it was meant to be.

Season 5 of the Heal/Create Podcast begins with a new invitation: to explore what it means to be an “artist mother”—a woman who deeply nurtures the people, dreams, work, and creative gifts in her care while refusing to abandon her own aliveness. Courtney shares her own journey of learning to mother herself, heal her relationship with her femininity and creativity, and step more fully into her identity as an artist after decades of leading worship and caring for others. This season is a celebration of women who are ready to tend to their dreams with the same compassion, patience, and devotion they bring to everything else they love—and to discover what becomes possible when we do.
