  • The Black Monk Mystery
    1 Oct 2026

A poltergeist that earns the nickname “Mr. Nobody.” A small-town double murder where the evidence doesn’t just go cold, it vanishes. A dream that sends searchers into the bush and leads to a body no one expected to find. We line these stories up side by side and ask the question that keeps pulling us back to the strange: what do you do when the facts stop being enough, but the witnesses, the patterns, and the timing still won’t let go?

First, we head to West Yorkshire and the Black Monk of Pontefract, one of the most debated UK poltergeist hauntings. We walk through the early reports that feel uniquely unsettling, like mysterious pools of water forming in front of people and a cloud of white dust falling onto a seated grandmother. Then we follow the escalation into banging, lights, a shadowy figure, and claims of physical harm centered on a teenager, including the infamous account of being dragged up the stairs. We also talk through the uncomfortable tension between skepticism and lived experience, especially when multiple witnesses step forward and the family never seems to profit from the story.

Next, we dig into the 1948 Mary Jane Reed and Stanley Scridla case in Oregon, Illinois. The timeline is brutal, the details are odd, and the later discovery of an empty case file raises the kind of questions that stick with you for years. From there, we pivot to dreams, consciousness, and a case where an Aboriginal elder’s dream leads investigators to a different victim, widening the tragedy and the mystery at once. We close by zooming out to modern spirituality and why witchcraft, tarot, and ritual have become more visible and more commercialized across the US and beyond.

  • Two Raincoats. Zero Answers.
    19 Sep 2026

A graveyard that seems to fight back. A possession claim that ends in a homicide trial. Two men on a hill in Brazil wearing homemade lead eye masks with a note that reads like a schedule for something not meant for human witnesses. We jump between these stories because they all hit the same nerve: when people are terrified, what do we actually know, and what are we just repeating?

John brings us into Edinburgh’s Greyfriars Kirkyard and the Mackenzie Poltergeist legend, from the violent history tied to George “Bloody” Mackenzie to modern reports of scratches, burns, bruises, and choking marks. We talk through the press involvement, a filmed exorcism attempt, and the unsettling photograph that appears to show a figure in a window. Then we ask the question every listener is thinking: if this were your case, where would a real paranormal investigation even begin?

Next, we head to 1980s Connecticut for the story behind The Conjuring narrative, including Ed and Lorraine Warren, a church-approved exorcism, and the infamous courtroom moment where “demonic possession” is floated as a defense after a stabbing. We get into the hard part: evidence gaps, mental health realities, and how fame and storytelling can blur the line between documentation and mythology. Finally, Lady Teal walks us through Brazil’s lead masks case, the strange written instructions, the missing capsules, and why UFO and consciousness theories refuse to die.

If you’re into true paranormal stories, poltergeist lore, demon possession debates, UFO mysteries, and skeptical analysis that still leaves room for wonder, hit play. Subscribe, share this with a friend who loves the unexplained, and leave a review with your theory: which case feels the most believable to you, and why?
