This is the Season 118 of The Football Referee with dRem TGI (Emmy Hikins), and Trevor Gear on Deepstuff TV and Deepstuff Radio of Deepstuff records. All Episodes conducted by Legendary Singer-Songwriter and Musician Trevor Gear and TV and Radio presenter Emmy Hikins (dRem TGI) and also a Singer-Songwriter and a music producer of Deepstuff records LTD, In This Season Of The Football Referee Podcast we discuss:Manchester City Sanctions Emmy and Trevor discussed the implications of potential sanctions against Manchester City following their guilty verdict on 115 charges related to Premier League violations. Trevor noted that while an appeal must be lodged by October 2nd, many respected figures in football, including Roy Keane, are calling for significant penalties like points deductions that could lead to relegation. The discussion highlighted the widespread sentiment that Manchester City's case appears concluded, though the final outcome awaits the appeal process. Manchester City Rules Violations Trevor and Emmy discussed the ongoing Manchester City football club investigation regarding alleged rule violations. Trevor explained that while some argue City won trophies fairly, others believe significant rules were broken and proper punishment is needed to maintain Premier League integrity. They discussed potential consequences including possible points deductions or relegation, though Trevor suggested mid-season relegation seems unlikely. The conversation also touched on Pep Guardiola's recent comments supporting the club and the upcoming match against Liverpool, where opposition fans are expected to express their views on the situation. Manchester City InvestigationTrevor and Emmy discussed the ongoing Premier League investigation into Manchester City's financial conduct, which dates back to 2018. Trevor explained that if City is found guilty and stripped of titles, this would affect players who may have been eligible due to rule violations, though the investigation likely doesn't reach back to 2012 when Wayne Rooney expressed reluctance about accepting a potential medal. Trevor clarified that while other teams might view the punishment as justified given City's multiple trophy wins during the investigated period, he doesn't believe this represents jealousy from rival clubs. Manchester City Regulatory ChallengesTrevor discussed the challenges faced by Premier League footballers and expressed sympathy for Manchester City players caught up in the team's alleged regulatory violations. He predicted that if Manchester City is found guilty after appeal, there could be a "fire sale" of players, with Erling Haaland potentially moving to Crystal Palace or abroad, though Trevor expressed doubt about Haaland staying in the Premier League. Trevor criticized the timing of the announcement before the appeal process and questioned how an objective appeal could proceed given the negative public perception of Manchester City's guilt. The Football Referee would also available in Visual Format on youtube and tiktok and in audio on all major online podcast market like Spotify, Audible/ Amazon Music, Apple Podcast, Deezer, iHeartRadio, Castbox, Podcast Addict, Podchaser, JioSaavn, Spreaker and links on all Social major media platforms.Music:Play Right (singles) by Drem TGI& Let's Do it Again (from the Album "Hold my Hand") by Trevor Gear Appearances In This Season: Emmy Hikins (drem tgi) and Trevor Gear, Sources and pictures credit:Sportskeeda.com, google.com, bbc sports, and Wikipedia, Kickoff, sky sports, bt sports / TNT, Athletic, football daily, tall football, football world ent, fox sports Argentina, opta, fabrizio Romano, times sports, telegraph, Palermo official, L’Equipe, @petehall86, Barcelona official fc, Liverpool Echo news, @JoanPoquiEraso, transfer news live twitter, Santi Aouna / Foot Mercato, @yagosabuncuoglu, Cadena SER, Daily Star Sports, sky sports,Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-football-referee--6204198/support.The Football Referee Was Brought To You By Deepstuff Radio Of Deepstuff Records Ltd. S117E1: I Would Think He Probably Would Be - Trevor Gear On Cristiano Ronaldo's International Games
    3 Oct 2026
This is the Season 117 of The Football Referee with dRem TGI (Emmy Hikins), and Trevor Gear on Deepstuff TV and Deepstuff Radio of Deepstuff records. All Episodes conducted by Legendary Singer-Songwriter and Musician Trevor Gear and TV and Radio presenter Emmy Hikins (dRem TGI) and also a Singer-Songwriter and a music producer of Deepstuff records LTD,

In This Season Of The Football Referee Podcast we discuss:

    Ronaldo and Haaland
Trevor and Emmy discussed whether Cristiano Ronaldo would play for Portugal in the upcoming Nations League, with Trevor arguing that Ronaldo's influence and talent make it unlikely he would be dropped from the team. They also debated Haaland's reputation, with Trevor defending that the Premier League's competitive nature actually enhances rather than diminishes players' reputations, and both agreed that Haaland deserves more recognition including potential Ballon d'Or consideration. The conversation ended with a brief mention of European clubs' recent performance before the international break.

    European Football Team
Emmy and Trevor discussed European football teams, particularly focusing on Tottenham's inclusion in the Europa League despite having two poor seasons. Trevor praised Brighton's performance under manager De Zerbi and shared details about Palace's recent 4-0 victory over Lech Poznan, highlighting the impressive fan support. They also discussed West Ham's performance under manager Nuno Santos, noting the team's comeback draw against Millwall and expressing hope for West Ham's return to the Premier League.

    Football Players and Team
Trevor and Emmy discussed football players and teams, including comments about Jared Bowen and his performance. They talked about Harry Kane and Erling Haaland's Premier League records, noting that both players have scored against every team they've faced. The conversation shifted to England's upcoming matches against the Czech Republic and Spain, and they discussed young players like Max Doman and Morgan Gibbs-White who might be called up to the England squad. They also touched on the importance of nurturing young players and the challenges they face when introduced to international teams.

    Football Statistics and Player Analysis
Emmy and Trevor discussed football statistics, particularly focusing on assists and player comparisons. They compared Anthony Gordon to Harry Kane, with Trevor explaining that while Gordon is a winger focused on creating chances, Kane is a goal-scoring center forward with exceptional anticipation skills. Trevor expressed concerns about modern football's overemphasis on statistics like possession and assists, arguing that players sometimes avoid shooting near the goal area due to coaching that prioritizes passing statistics. They also discussed an impressive goal scored by Coventry against Nottingham Forest and Trevor's mixed feelings about former Palace manager OLIVER GLASNER now managing Forest.
