À propos de ce contenu audio

This Podcast is all about helping humans think in ways that is empowering. Empowered humans, empower humans and our goal at Empowered in My Skin is to help develop one billion humans who are lead dominos for empowerment. Regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, etc., everyone deserves to be empowered in the skin that they are in. Empowered humans are thriving humans. It is our birthright to thrive. When we own our thrive, we are operating from a position of empowerment, and celebrating life in the present moment without fear. It is human nature to feel uncertain, but why does it have to take us away from our thrive, our creativity, and throw us off balance? If we can recognize that being empowered is us choosing to accept all that is, then we have the ability to step into clarity and live in the present moment. Our "now" is all that we have and where our infinite empowered energy resides. • Reclaiming the Narrative: Authenticity, Visibility, and the Art of Personal Branding with Sharon Fletcher
    May 14 2026

This episode feature personal brand strategist and visibility coach Sharon Fletcher. With over 21 years of experience in the federal public service and as a co-founder of the community platform Blacks Inspire, Sharon has dedicated her career to helping professionals step out of the shadows and into their power.

Together, they dive deep into why high-performing professionals often feel overlooked, the critical difference between "being loud" and being visible, and why authenticity is a strategy, not just a buzzword. Sharon also shares her "Conviction creates Capacity" philosophy and explains how to own your "value lane" to collaborate effectively without losing your identity.

    Key Takeaways
    • The Clarity-Greatness Connection: Personal greatness begins with clarity of self. Without a foundation of knowing who you are, it is impossible to evolve into your best self for others.
    • Conviction vs. Capacity: When you are deeply convicted about your message or mission, the capacity (time, energy, and resources) to execute it will follow.
    • The "Unseen" Professional: Many talented people are overlooked not due to a lack of ability, but a lack of positioning. Sharon discusses how to clearly articulate the specific value you bring to attract the opportunities you desire.
    • Authenticity as Consistency: Authentic leadership isn’t about being "perfect"; it’s about being consistent in your values and message so that you become trustworthy to your network.
    • Owning Your Lane: When you understand your unique value, you stop feeling threatened by others and start creating a "beautiful tapestry" of collaboration.

  • Empowering Bytes: The Environments That Changed Us
    May 7 2026

In this reflective and energizing conversation, Nkechi and Gaby explore the powerful role environments play in shaping who we become. From pivotal moments of exposure to the people and spaces that stretch us, this episode is a reminder that where you are matters just as much as who you are becoming.

Drawing from personal stories including stepping into a TEDx audience, entering the world of bodybuilding, and surrounding themselves with high performing and purpose driven individuals, they unpack how the right environments don’t just inspire us, they activate something already within us.

This episode invites you to pause and ask yourself, what rooms have shifted your trajectory, what spaces are you currently in, and are they expanding you or limiting you?

    Key Takeaways:

    • The environments you place yourself in have the power to shift your identity, mindset, and life trajectory
    • Proximity matters being in the right rooms exposes you to new possibilities and expands what you believe is possible
    • Not every room needs to be prestigious the most powerful environments are the ones that activate growth and stretch you
    • Ghosting environments that no longer serve you is sometimes necessary for your evolution
    • Psychological safety allows you to show up fully your mission becomes stronger when fear is no longer leading
    • Your energy determines your experience what you bring into a room impacts what you receive from it
    • Exposure alone is not enough transformation happens when you take action on what you’ve seen and learned
    • The people you surround yourself with influence your standards, mindset, and direction
    • You don’t need access to everyone you need alignment with the right people and spaces
    • Growth requires intentionality you must choose environments that align with who you are becoming

  • Alvin Brown: Don’t Just Get Through It – Get From It
    Apr 30 2026

What if life’s hardest seasons weren’t meant to break you, but to prepare you?

In this powerful episode, Alvin Brown joins Nkechi for a deeply personal conversation about discipline, resilience, grief, and the seasons of life. Drawing from his journey as an athlete, coach, and father, Alvin shares how preparation during life’s “summer” moments helps us navigate life’s winters with strength and clarity.

Through stories of loss, growth, and legacy, Alvin reminds us that challenges are not just something to survive. They are opportunities to learn, grow, and turn pain into purpose.

This conversation will inspire you to stop just getting through life and start getting from it.

    Key Takeaways:

    • Life happens in seasons, and while we cannot avoid winter, we can prepare for it. The habits, relationships, and discipline we build during life’s good seasons are what carry us through the difficult ones.
    • Every challenge carries a lesson, but growth only happens when we choose to reflect instead of react. Don’t just get through hard moments, take the time to learn what they are trying to teach you.
    • Grief and hardship become heavier when regret is present. Living intentionally, showing up fully for the people we love, and making the most of today helps lighten the emotional weight of tomorrow.
    • Structure creates stability. Whether in your health, your relationships, or your work, the systems you build determine the results you experience when pressure arrives.
    • Pain can be transformed into purpose. Even life’s deepest losses can become a source of meaning and legacy when we choose to carry forward the lessons and impact of those experiences.
