  • Who Are the Elohim? The Gods in God's Divine Council
    12 Oct 2026
Who are the Elohim? Why does Psalm 82 describe God judging among the gods? And who were the sons of God mentioned throughout the Old Testament? In Episode 1 of The Elohim, a four-part Broadcasting Seeds series, Bennett Tanton investigates the biblical Divine Council and the spiritual beings described in Scripture.Genesis opens with the word Elohim, but that Hebrew word is not used exclusively for the God of Israel. Scripture also uses it in passages involving other gods, spiritual beings, and even the mysterious appearance of Samuel in 1 Samuel 28.So what does Elohim actually mean?Drawing on biblical passages, the Dead Sea Scrolls, ancient Jewish writings, and the scholarship of Dr. Michael Heiser, we examine a populated unseen world and the God who rules over it.In this episode:
    • What the Hebrew word Elohim means
    • Why Psalm 82 describes God judging other gods
    • The Divine Council and the sons of God
    • Cherubim, seraphim, watchers, and heavenly princes
    • What the Dead Sea Scrolls reveal about Deuteronomy 32:8
    • The connection between Babel and the nations
    • Why Jesus quoted Psalm 82 in John 10
    • What it means that believers will judge angels
We also compare the biblical descriptions of heavenly beings with traditions found in 1 Enoch, early Judaism, Christianity, and other ancient religious systems. The central question: If God is the only true God, why does Scripture describe other Elohim? This is not an argument that other gods are equal to Yahweh. It is an investigation into what the biblical writers believed about the unseen world and what distinguishes the Creator from every created spiritual being.SUPPORT BROADCASTING SEEDSKingdom Field Manual: The Deuteronomy Filter

  • Why Did John Fall Before an Angel? | Sunday Seeds
    11 Oct 2026
The apostle John saw the risen Jesus Christ. So why did he fall down and worship an angel, not once, but twice? In Revelation 19:10 and Revelation 22:8–9, John falls at the feet of an angel. Both times, the angel stops him with the same command: **"Worship God."** In this episode of Sunday Seeds from Broadcasting Seeds, we examine one of the most revealing warnings in Scripture. If John, the apostle who witnessed the glory of Christ, could mistake a messenger for the one who sent him, what does that mean for Christians today? **What does the Bible really teach about angels, angel worship, and spiritual deception?** We begin with Psalm 89 and Hebrews 1, examining the heavenly council, the sons of God, and why Jesus Christ stands above every created heavenly being. Then we trace the warning through ancient Jewish writings, early Christian history, and the modern fascination with angel numbers, spirit guides, guardian angels, and even artificial intelligence that presents itself as Jesus. **IN THIS EPISODE:** - Why John worshipped an angel twice in Revelation - The difference between bowing before Jesus and bowing before an angel - Psalm 89, the heavenly council, and the sons of God - Hebrews 1 and the supremacy of Jesus Christ over all angels - The Dead Sea Scrolls and Deuteronomy 32:43 - Raphael, Metatron, and ancient accounts of angels refusing worship - Why the early Church condemned angel worship - Angel numbers, spirit guides, and modern spiritual deception - The biblical test that faithful angels consistently demonstrate - Why John recorded his own failures for future generations This message also prepares us for our new series, **THE ELOHIM**, where we will study the heavenly beings described throughout Scripture, including cherubim, seraphim, archangels, Watchers, fallen angels, and the divine council. Before we examine the beings surrounding God's throne, we must remember who sits upon it. **SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:** Revelation 1:12–18; 19:10; 22:8–9 Psalm 89:5–8 Hebrews 1 Deuteronomy 32:43 Colossians 2:18 Judges 13 Daniel 10 Isaiah 6 John 20:28 Jude 24–25 **SUPPORT BROADCASTING SEEDS** Visit our website and explore the Broadcasting Seeds store: https://broadcastingseeds.com

  • Is Complaining Actually A Sinful Spiritual Habit?
    11 Oct 2026
Complaining may seem harmless, but what happens when grumbling, murmuring, and constant criticism become a spiritual habit? Does the Bible warn us about something much more serious than a negative attitude? In this episode of Testing the Spirits, Bennett Tanton and Laura Baker examine the spirit of complaining, the biblical consequences of murmuring, and how Christians can replace bitterness, resentment, and fault-finding with gratitude, prayer, and the peace of Jesus Christ. From Israel's rebellion in the wilderness to the warnings of Paul in 1 Corinthians 10 and Philippians 2:14, Scripture repeatedly confronts the danger of a heart consumed by dissatisfaction. Bennett and Laura discuss: Why Israel continued complaining despite witnessing God's miracles The consequences of murmuring in Numbers 12, 16, and 21 The difference between biblical lament and sinful complaining When spiritual discernment becomes constant fault-finding How complaining affects marriages, children, friendships, and churches Why gratitude is one of the strongest responses to resentment How to replace criticism with prayer, repentance, and grace A closing prayer for freedom from bitterness and habitual complaining One of the most important questions in this conversation: Are we sometimes calling something spiritual discernment when it is actually chronic criticism? Not every complaint is sinful, and honest suffering is not the same as rebellion against God. But when accusations, bitterness, and resentment become the language of our lives, Christians need to examine whose character their words reflect.
