What went wrong for Wrexham AFC at West Ham? And what can we actually learn from that 6-0 defeat? In this episode of The Breakdown, Matt is joined by former Wrexham AFC striker Dior Angus to take a detailed look at the performance at the London Stadium and break down the key moments, tactical decisions and defensive problems that led to a heavy defeat.Rather than simply looking at the scoreline, Dior brings his experience as a former professional footballer to explain why West Ham were able to hurt Wrexham AFC, where Wrexham's pressing strategy worked — and where it left the team exposed.🔍 In this episode we analyse:⚽ Wrexham AFC's 3-4-2-1 setup at West Ham⚽ Why Wrexham tried to press West Ham high up the pitch⚽ How West Ham played through the press⚽ The importance of giving Premier League-quality players time and space⚽ Jared Bowen's movement and finishing⚽ Anthony Patterson's early save⚽ The defensive issues around the West Ham goals⚽ Callum Doyle and the importance of those split-second decisions⚽ George Dobson's role in midfield⚽ Joe Worrall's difficult first appearance for Wrexham AFC⚽ How West Ham's movement exposed the spaces behind Wrexham's wing-backs⚽ Why defenders need to stay proactive inside the box⚽ How confidence can affect a team during a difficult game⚽ What happens inside a dressing room after a 6-0 defeat⚽ How Phil Parkinson can help the squad move forward⚽ What Wrexham AFC can learn from the experienceDior also shares his perspective on what it is like for players when a game starts getting away from them — and why continuing to run, compete and make the right decisions becomes increasingly difficult when confidence drops. There are plenty of lessons in this one, and as Dior says, Wrexham AFC will need to take what they can from the defeat and move on.If you enjoy Wrexham AFC tactical analysis, Championship football, football coaching insight and honest discussion about the Reds, make sure you subscribe to Racecourse Ramble.👇 GET INVOLVEDLike the video, subscribe to the channel and let us know your thoughts in the comments and live chat!🔗 LINKS & PEOPLE WE SUPPORT🚌 MH TRAVELTravel to away games with MH Travel:https://www.facebook.com/mhtravelnorthwaleshttps://www.tiktok.com/@mhtravelnorthwales🥔 MH TAYTOESFollow MH Taytoes:https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61580330577739https://www.tiktok.com/@mhtaytoes👕 CAE RAS COLLECTIVEAmazing Wrexham prints & clothing:https://caerascollective.comhttps://www.instagram.com/caerascollective/❤️ WREXHAM WOMEN'S SUPPORTERS GROUPSupporting Wrexham AFC Women:https://wrexhamwomensupporters.org.uk/https://www.instagram.com/wrexhamwomen_supportersgroup/📖 THE RACECOURSE RAMBLE GUIDEPlanning a trip to Wrexham?
