  • Episode 13 — The Minimum Effective Routine for a Better Week
    29 Sep 2026

Most routines are designed for the week we hope to have—not the unpredictable week that actually arrives.

When energy falls or plans change, an all-or-nothing routine leaves only two possible results: perfect completion or failure. A minimum effective routine creates a third option: keep the system alive in a smaller but still useful form.

In this episode, M. Shezi shows you how to build a resilient seven-day routine with three levels:

    • Floor: The smallest useful version for a difficult day
    • Standard: The version that fits an ordinary day
    • Stretch: An optional version for days with more time and energy

    You’ll learn:

    • Why the minimum is a floor rather than a ceiling
    • How to test whether your floor is genuinely small enough
    • How to connect the routine to a reliable cue
    • Why success should be measured against the floor
    • Four traps that make simple routines complicated again
    • How to review, shrink or expand the routine after seven days

Your action is to create one seven-day plan containing:

    Priority + cue + floor + standard + stretch + tracking method

Test it for one week without adding another self-improvement project.

A minimum routine supports sustainable everyday behaviour. It is not a substitute for necessary medical care, mental-health treatment, safety planning or professional support.

Start with one system. Take one small action. Build a better life.

  • Why 'Optimise Everything' Usually Makes You Feel Worse
    6 Oct 2026

The modern health world can make an ordinary Tuesday feel like a performance review. Track your sleep, perfect your meals, count your steps, meditate, stretch, supplement and never miss a workout. The result is often not better health, but more pressure.

In this episode, M. Shezi explains why trying to optimise everything can create decision fatigue, guilt and fragile routines.

You will learn a simpler priority-based approach: protect what matters most, choose one useful action and deliberately remove one unnecessary demand.

Your action for this week is to identify one health habit that adds more pressure than value and pause it for seven days.

  • Episode 12 — Why Your Brain Resists Complicated Routines
    22 Sep 2026

You can genuinely want a result and still resist the routine that produces it.

That resistance may appear to be a lack of motivation. Often, however, the routine contains too many hidden decisions and demands too much effort before the useful action even begins.

In this episode, M. Shezi explores activation energy—the physical, mental and emotional effort required to start a task. You’ll discover why seemingly simple instructions such as “exercise after work,” “declutter the room” or “focus on the project” can contain an exhausting number of decisions.

You’ll learn five ways to make routines easier to begin:

    • Decide important details in advance
    • Make the first action visible and specific
    • Reduce unnecessary tools and preparation
    • Create a low-energy version of the routine
    • Define a clear stopping point

You’ll also learn how to rewrite a vague intention using this structure:

After a clear cue, I will perform a visible first action for a defined minimum period, and I may stop at the agreed endpoint.

Your action is to choose one routine you have been resisting and shrink its first step until you can begin it in less than two minutes.

You are not shrinking the importance of the goal. You are shrinking the doorway.
