  • Midterm Predictions And Why Campaign Ads Feel Broken
    27 Oct 2026

The mailers are piling up, the attack ads are getting weird, and midterms are right around the corner, so we sit down as three friends with three very different day jobs and try to make sense of what’s about to happen. We talk House vs Senate expectations, why midterms often punish the party in power, and what “gridlock” really means for regular people. We also make the case that democracy isn’t designed to be efficient, it’s designed to keep any one person from grabbing too much power.

From there, the conversation shifts to the part of politics that drives everyone nuts: nonstop political advertising. We tell a story about campaign mailers showing up in bunches, sometimes even going to the wrong district, and we debate where persuasion ends and cheap shots begin. If you’re tired of mud slinging, we’re with you, and we dig into whether “don’t punch down” is still possible when candidates feel like they have to win at any cost.

Then we head to sports and go all in on college football playoff expansion. A 24 team playoff sounds like more access, but we argue it could make the regular season meaningless, marginalize conference championships, and turn bowl games into background noise. We also get into conference realignment, the growing gravity of the SEC and Big Ten, Notre Dame’s incentives, and finish with a fast run through weekend matchups, spreads, and over-unders across the slate.

If you like smart debate, real-world cynicism, and sports talk with receipts, hit play, then subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a review. What’s your line in the sand: bigger playoffs or keeping the regular season sacred?

  • College Football Shockers And Spreads

Three friends are back around the table, and we waste zero time getting into what sports fans can’t stop arguing about right now: who’s actually good and who’s living off a preseason story. We talk college football surprises that have changed the mood of the season, starting with Kentucky looking like the kind of team nobody wants to play. From there we hit the ripple effects of coaching changes, why certain programs tighten up under pressure, and how a single quarterback injury can turn an “undefeated” headline into a weekly problem.

Then we go straight at the heavyweight questions: Is Georgia the best team in the country? What do we make of Alabama in big moments? And which head coaches are elite recruiters but shaky closers when the game turns? We also dig into Ohio State’s path, what worries us on defense, and the difference between protecting a lead and handing momentum away.

If you love the gambling side of college football, we read the point spreads and over-under totals that made us do a double take and try to explain what Vegas might be seeing. After that, we pivot hard into entertainment with a no-filter WWE Money in the Bank reaction, plus a quick hockey nod and an outro that somehow becomes a travel-candy tease and a “best hot dog of my life” story.

Subscribe so you don’t miss the next one, share this with your most opinionated friend, and leave a review if you like the chaos. What’s the single biggest surprise of this season so far?

  • College Football Hot Takes

A game comes down to one second, the replay booth uses the “wrong” clock, and suddenly a conference is asking the NCAA to reverse a result. That’s how our night starts: three friends around a table a lawyer, an engineer, and a school superintendent trying to make sense of how college football can feel both hyper-precise and totally chaotic at the same time. We also take a quick victory lap for a three-year podcast anniversary, because apparently time moves faster than a two-minute drill.

From there we bounce between the big forces shaping the sport and the stories that make it fun to argue about. We talk NCAA replay protocols, what “final” should mean, and why conference politics always show up when wins, rankings, and money are involved. We also get into the rumor mill side of the sport with Lane Kiffin, the “Joey Freshwater” nickname, and what it says about how programs manage personalities under a spotlight that never turns off.

Then we put our opinions on the line with a season-long betting pot: $50 each, one pick per person, tracked all year for entertainment purposes only. We lock in our Week 2 card with Oklahoma against Michigan, Kentucky plus the points against Alabama, and the under in Ohio State vs Texas, plus the matchup logic behind each bet: pass rush, offensive line concerns, quarterback reality checks, and why early-season stats can fool you. If you like college football talk, betting picks, point spread debates, and the occasional detour into a stolen truckload of PBR, hit play, subscribe, share with a friend, and leave us a review.
