Last year, Hugh Ross (Reasons to Believe) replied to a comment we left on X (formerly Twitter). Our comment asked if he had seen some aspects of Dr. Aardsma's work. Ross replied, "I have just completed a book on Noah's Flood and have responded to Aardsma's claims."

The book Ross referenced became available in October. This month we critique Noah's Flood Revisited (new depths of insight from science and Scripture).

We discuss several aspects of this new book by an old-earth creationist, pointing out where it falls critically short—false fronts, fuzzy facts, failing to follow through, and an ultimate fatal flaw. This is important because, as Christians, we must be actively advancing the cause of truth, not just giving some reasons to hold to our faith. We must stop treading water in Christian apologetics, and begin to take ground with data, scientific investigation, research results, and specific dates that show these events in real-world history.

The proper date for Noah's Flood, based on extensive evidence, is 3520 B.C. With this anchor point established, we can then begin to investigate questions surrounding the Flood, and we can get real, concrete, fascinating answers from various branches of science, including archaeology.

Today, we delve into one such question. Who were the people who perished in Noah's Flood?

In Matthew 24, Jesus says: "For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away, so will the coming of the Son of Man be."

Another version says "until the flood came and swept them all away." Who were these people groups, these civilizations who were swept away in Noah's Flood? What can we know about them?

We investigate the lives and cultures of specific ancient people groups in south Mesopotamia, in Palestine, in Greece, in Ireland, and North America. Evidence strongly supports the hypothesis that all of these civilizations perished in the Flood, at the date of circa 3520 B.C., causing a major well-known cultural break across continents in the centuries following Noah's Flood.

Nowhere else will you hear this specific, detailed information. Other Bible-believing groups have not been able to pin a functional date on Noah's Flood, and this stops them from knowing much of anything about the Flood, outside of what the Bible says. We are blessed to be able to tie secular history together with biblical history with the strong foundation of proper chronology. This sound reasoning goes far beyond guesswork or speculation, giving us great confidence in the biblical text.

[Season 4, Episode 4]

After his initial discovery of the anti-aging vitamins, Dr. Aardsma made contact with the United States FDA, attempting to follow the applicable guidelines before bringing his new product to market in 2017. The interactions between Dr. Aardsma and the FDA at that time ended up being frustrating and unproductive. "Two new vitamins" appear to be uncharted territory for the FDA.

After five years of subsequent silence, the FDA contacted Dr. Aardsma this past summer. (Why now, after five years of silence? We have some ideas.)

We find ourselves blazing a trail of sorts with the discovery of these two new vitamins, rooted in Bible/science research. There is no manual or web search that can give us instructions on how to move this new discovery forward into the hands of the proper authorities. Last month's episode reminds us of the inherent difficulties faced by previous vitamin discoveries, by which we can see that we are in good company at least, and thereby we are encouraged that eventually the truth will prevail.
