  • The One Where God Defines Love
    Feb 3 2026
Thanks for joining us for this episode of That’s Why We’re Friends. The podcast is created for women in the oldish season of life, where we get real & vulnerable about all things faith, family, our bodies, health & everything in between.

If you’re looking for a space to laugh & cry about the real stuff, this is it! —----

    This week on That’s Why We’re Friends…

In this episode, we kick things off with a quick getaway recap, a little laughter about being this close to cake, and a fun detour into old favorites like The Love Boat and Gilligan’s Island. But then we dive into something much deeper: what it really means to live loved. We talk about why it’s impossible to truly love others if we don’t know—deep in our bones—that we are already loved by God. From the different types of love to God’s definition of love shown through Christ’s sacrifice, we explore how identity, control, and surrender all shape the way we love. Living loved isn’t something we fall into—it’s something we are formed by. And when we anchor our lives in the truth that God lavishes His perfect love on us, it becomes a gift not only to us, but to everyone we love.

If you’ve ever felt like food takes up way too much space in your thoughts, you’re not alone. In this episode, we talk about food noise - what it is, where it comes from, and how healing changes the constant mental chatter around eating. We reflect on our ongoing food journeys, the unexpected signs of healing along the way (yes, including perky knees 😄), and how freedom often shows up in small, everyday moments. This conversation is about progress, not perfection, and learning to live in a body that feels supported, strong, and peaceful - without overthinking every bite.

  • The One Where Freedom Didn't Look Like a Diet

    This week on That’s Why We’re Friends…

Freedom with food doesn’t come from another plan - it comes from healing what’s underneath.

In this episode, we continue the conversation we started earlier this month by sharing our personal journeys out of the diet world, and breaking free from food bondage and disordered eating. We talk openly about body dysmorphia, eating disorders, and the mental weight that comes with constantly trying to control food and our bodies. We also share what freedom looks like now - how we approach moderation, movement, and health in a way that honors God and supports our bodies without obsession.

This episode is for the woman who’s tired of the cycle and wondering if peace with food is actually possible.

    This week on That’s Why We’re Friends…

Pelvic floor health is one of those things women rarely talk about, but absolutely should. In this episode, we’re joined by Dr. Brooke Miller, a physical therapist who specializes in pelvic floor health and helps women understand how their bodies are designed to work, especially as we age.

With her refreshingly honest tagline…“I help you with everything pertaining to peeing, pooping & sex” - Dr. Brooke breaks down what the pelvic floor actually is, why it matters, and how it impacts everyday life more than we realize. We talk about common issues women experience, why they’re not something you just have to live with, and how to be proactive, on the offensive, about your pelvic floor health. This conversation is empowering, informative, and will leave you feeling more confident in caring for your body in a way that helps it truly work for you.

What if the reason you’re pursuing health matters more than the plan itself?
In this episode, we talk honestly about body image, feeling good in our bodies, and why moderation—not obsession—creates lasting change. We explore how our “why” for health often gets tangled in appearance, control, or comparison, and how shifting that focus brings real freedom. Together, we unpack what it looks like to align our health goals with what God says is true about us—living under the umbrella of grace instead of pressure. This conversation is about pursuing health so we can live fully, show up well, and walk out the calling God has placed on our lives—without striving, guilt, or perfectionism.
