  • Episode 7 : Beyond Representation: What Happens When We Change the System? (SOLO)
    16 Oct 2026

🎙️ SOLO EPISODE | Beyond Representation: What Happens When We Change the System?

Having a seat at the table is only the start. In this solo episode, I look at what it takes to move from representation to real structural change, and what that means for the communities most impacted by the decisions made without them.

I also discuss the OUSD school board resolution on Eid from 2021, what it means for students and families, and what it shows about how change happens when communities organize, show up, and push for policy rather than symbolism.

Tune in, share it with someone who needs to hear it, and let me know your thoughts.

Rebuilding the Black Teacher Pipeline: A Conversation with Sharif El-Mekki

What happens when we stop asking why there aren’t enough Black teachers and start asking what systems are doing to the Black teacher pipeline?

In this episode of Tell Me More with Jehan, I’m joined by educator and advocate Sharif El-Mekki for a conversation about teacher preparation, representation, and what it means to truly invest in educators before they step into the classroom.

We talk about what happens when teachers enter classrooms without the preparation, support, and resources they need—and why we would never accept that level of preparation in other professions. We also explore the importance of Black educators, the systemic barriers that shape who enters and stays in the profession, and what rebuilding the pipeline can look like.

This is a conversation about education, systems, representation, and ultimately, what our students deserve.

  • Episode 5: Education Isn't Neutral: A Conversation with Abeer Ramadan-Shinnawi
    18 Sep 2026

Whose stories are being told—and whose are missing?

In this episode, I’m joined by Abeer Ramadan-Shinnawi, a Palestinian American and Muslim educator, social studies teacher, and educational consultant. We talk about representation, culturally responsive education, and the importance of making space for diverse histories and perspectives in the classroom.

Abeer shares how she brings often-overlooked voices into her teaching and why students seeing themselves reflected in what they learn can create a deeper sense of belonging.

Because education isn’t neutral. The stories we choose to teach matter.

Listen in, get curious, and take on this week’s Tell Me More Challenge.
