EPISODE 29 — THE WAITING

Trusting the Author When You Don’t Know the Ending 🙏🏻

Have you ever carried a dream so deeply in your heart that you wondered if God had forgotten about it? Have you prayed the same prayer for years? Have you hoped, surrendered, picked your hope back up, surrendered again—and wondered, “Lord, how long?” Maybe you're waiting for a child. Maybe you're waiting for healing. Maybe you're waiting for restoration. Maybe you're waiting for a relationship, a promise, a breakthrough, or a dream you have carried quietly for years. And sometimes the hardest part of waiting isn't the waiting itself. It's not knowing when. For years, I've carried a heart desire before the Lord. I've prayed. I've hoped. I've trusted. I've cried. I've surrendered the timeline more times than I can count. And I'm learning something in this waiting season: God has never asked me to know the timeline. He has asked me to trust the Author. I don't know what the next page holds. But I know Who holds the pen. And perhaps that is where surrender becomes real—not when we stop desiring the thing we've prayed for, but when we can honestly say, “Lord, I still desire it. I still hope. But I trust You more than I trust my timeline.” This episode is for the woman who is waiting. The woman who is wondering if her prayer has been heard. The woman who is watching other people's stories unfold while hers seems to be standing still. The woman who is trying to hold onto hope without allowing hope to become an idol. And the woman learning that surrender doesn't necessarily mean giving up the dream. Sometimes surrender simply means placing the dream back into the hands of the One who gave us the ability to dream in the first place. Because He knows. He knows the beginning. He knows the middle. He knows the ending. And while I may not know what He will write on the next page, I can trust the Author. “My times are in Your hand.” — Psalm 31:15 So if you're waiting today, this is your reminder: You are not forgotten. Your waiting is not wasted. Your story is not over. And God's silence is not proof of His absence. Keep praying. Keep hoping. Keep surrendering. Keep walking. And above all— keep trusting the Author. 🕊️🤍 Closing Prayer 🙏🏻 Father, for the woman listening who has been waiting for years, meet her right here. When she is tired, give her strength. When she is discouraged, give her hope. When she doesn't understand, give her peace. And when she is tempted to believe that You have forgotten her, remind her that You have never stopped writing her story. Teach us to surrender not only the outcome, but the timeline. Help us to trust You when we cannot see what is coming next. And Lord, if there is a dream we have carried for years, help us place it back into Your hands—not because we no longer care, but because we trust You more. We don't know the ending. But we know the Author. And that is enough for today. In Jesus' name, amen. 🤍🕊️
