À propos de ce contenu audio

The global phenomenon Stray Kids is attractive for far more than their music -- like many KPOP bands, much of their appeal lies in the themes, storylines, and personas that they portray to us within and outside of their music itself. This podcast is dedicated to breaking down those themes, stories, and archetypes -- as well as assessing the larger cultural context that we experience them in and they experience us in.

In a world of decreasing media analysis and media literacy, I invite you to spend some time (over)thinking our favorite 8 millionaires who claim they're homeless runaways.

(This is an unapologetically forthright podcast -- there will be cursing and discussions about sometimes difficult topics such as sex, sensuality, mental health, queerness, etc. Use personal discretion and note any content warnings in individual episodes.)

What is it to be "normal"? And what do we expect of idols in portraying normality? This episode focuses on an understanding of what neurodivergence, neurotypicality, and disability are, and how we see these concepts portrayed at a high level in KPOP and Stray Kids. This is part two of a series.
