And while all good things must indeed come to an end, we can still celebrate the time we had together thanks to the magic of a good old fashioned holiday special. Believe it or not, dear listeners, we have finally made it to the modern day. Star Trek '09, Discovery, Picard, Lower Decks, Prodigy, Strange New Worlds--even Short Treks--they're all in the rearview mirror now. But how successful was our pilot season? Which shows will be picked up by our audiences? Which will leave a lasting legacy? Only time will tell. Having watched the first three episodes of this show, it would be more appropriate to call this, "The Beginning is the End." And not a moment too soon, as we were all starting to fall asleep trying to get through them. Unless there is something in this last one that will finally wake this show up? I feel like the only time I ever hear the word "remembrance" is in the context of "in remembrance." That doesn't bode well for a series that is supposed to be revitalizing a classic character. Is it possible that this show is dead on arrival? We'll just have to do post mortem after we watch this premiere episode of Star Trek: Picard.
