  • What Does It Really Mean to Be Spiritual? | Love, God, Suffering & Self-Love
    12 Oct 2026

What does it actually mean to be spiritual? Is spirituality about religion, connecting with God, sensing energy, or simply being a good human being?

In Episode 14 of the Source Medicine Podcast, Dr. Anita Wasik and Nikolay Ayerov explore spirituality through their personal experiences, beliefs, and understanding of love, suffering, relationships, and the human journey.

Together, they explore the difference between religion and spirituality, the possibility that God and love are expressions of the same underlying force, and the idea that our souls may experience life as a journey of discovery, growth, and ultimately returning to ourselves.

But spirituality isn't necessarily about seeing angels, feeling energy, or having extraordinary experiences. Perhaps one of the most meaningful expressions of spirituality is how we treat ourselves and the people around us.

This brings us to an important question: Is it still worth being a good person in a world where kindness is sometimes taken advantage of?

And what does being good actually mean when kindness toward others comes at the expense of ourselves?

We also explore masculine and feminine polarity, the role relationships can play in spiritual growth, and how love can remain unconditional even when the boundaries of a relationship change. Because loving someone doesn't necessarily mean giving them unlimited access to your life.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • What spirituality means to Anita and Nikolay
    • The differences and connections between religion and spirituality
    • God, love, and the possibility that they are one
    • The soul's journey and the meaning we give to human experience
    • Suffering, spiritual growth, and returning to ourselves
    • Why spiritual experiences aren't necessarily measures of spiritual maturity
    • Masculine and feminine polarity in relationships and spiritual development
    • Why being a good person is always worthwhile
    • Self-love, healthy boundaries, and unconditional love.

Whether you consider yourself religious, spiritual, curious, or simply someone trying to live a meaningful life, we invite you into an open conversation about what spirituality might look like in everyday human experience.

What does spirituality mean to you? And can you love someone unconditionally while choosing not to have them in your life?

We'd love to hear your perspective in the comments.

  • Is glucose the enemy or misunderstood?
    10 Aug 2026

For years carbohydrates have been blamed for many of today's health challenges. But what if the conversation is far more nuanced?

In this episode of Source Medicine Podcast, we explore one of the most misunderstood topics in nutrition by examining the biology behind glucose, the role of carbohydrates in human health, and why fear-based narratives often oversimplify a much more complex system.

Together, we discuss how glucose serves as the body's primary cellular fuel, its relationship with the nervous system and stress response, and why context matters when evaluating the foods we eat.

Rather than promoting extremes or encouraging excessive sugar consumption, this conversation invites a balanced perspective grounded in science, physiology, and curiosity.

    It his episode we discuss:

    • Why sugar has become one of themost feared nutrients
    • How glucose fuels the brain, nervous system, and every cell in the body
    • The relationship between glucose and the body's stress response
    • Adrenaline, cortisol, and why chronic stress changes the way we use energy
    • Why context matters more than nutrition dogma
    • Common misconceptions surrounding sugar and metabolic health
    • How to build a healthier relationship with food through understanding instead of fear
