Uterine fibroids are the most common tumor found in women, affecting between 20-80% of women by age 50. They are also more common in Black women. Teresa and Chaffron are two of them. In this episode of Sidebar Sessions, the Gems dove deep into their journey with fibroids, from frustrating symptoms to the fight to be diagnosed and treated. They also shared their thoughts on how the healthcare system handles women's issues, teaching young women about reproductive health, and more.

From mullets to mushrooms, french rolls to afros, our hair is tied to some the most intimate experiences in our lifetime. For many of us, our earliest hair memories - tremendous or traumatic - are tied to moments shared with our mothers, grandmothers, or aunts.  These moments not only shaped our bonds with each other, they often shaped our feelings about ourselves.  Since so much of our history is tied in with our hair story, we are taking this week to share our very own "hair tales," and how our experiences with our hair brought us closer to ourselves - and each other.
