Summary
Everyone has a second story, some people have a few. It’s the story we create after we’ve had that moment in our lives that move us in a different direction. For some people, its personal, they lose a loved one, or they find one. For others, it is professional, they chase a dream, or they miss out on one. Its what we do after that often defines the direction our life will go. Are you going to rest on your laurels? Or push even harder. Are you going to sit and stew, or stand up and fight? Are you going to stop at one story? Or are you going to re-write your own history? This is Second Story.2026 Josh Cybulski & Corey Leckie Economics Social Sciences

  • A Society In Decay | The Red Baron Story Shows Us Why People Don't Want To Work Hard Anymore
    31 Oct 2026

Something is broken in our society.
We are living in a culture where people can spend decades building a career, developing a skill, showing up every day, and working their asses off just to make ends meet only to have some clown walk into a grocery store and humiliate them for internet content....and likely make more money from that interaction than the employee makes in a month.
And we're supposed to celebrate that?
In this episode of Second Story, Josh talks about the growing trend of pranking hard-working people, the resentment towards hard work, the changing definition of success, and what happens when a society starts rewarding all the wrong things.
Josh also talks about men. Particularly the growing number of men who feel disconnected, undervalued and increasingly uncertain about what they're supposed to work toward. For generations, men were told that if they worked hard, developed skills, provided for their families and played by the rules, things would eventually work out.
But what happens when hurting others pays more than working hard? Well, we might find out soon as the cost of living keeps climbing, traditional career paths offer less security, and the people getting rewarded online aren't necessarily building anything meaningful.
Is it any wonder that some people are questioning the value of working harder?

Are we witnessing a society in decay? Or are we just finally seeing the consequences of a culture that has lost its respect for hard work, responsibility and ordinary people?

    Let's talk about it.

  • We Did Everything Right. So Why Are We So Tired? | The Great Millennial Reckoning
    24 Oct 2026

We followed the rules. We went to school, built careers, chased stability, and tried to create the lives we were told would make us happy.

So why does it feel like so many of us are exhausted, overwhelmed, and quietly wondering, is this it?

In this episode of Second Story, we're talking about the millennial reckoning — the strange realization that the life we spent years building might not be the life we actually want.

From career burnout and financial pressure to parenting, mental health, social media, and the expectations we inherited, we're unpacking what happens when the traditional definition of success stops making sense.

We're also talking about the pressure to be everything to everyone, the identities we build around our careers and responsibilities, and what it means to start questioning those identities in our late 30s and 40s.

Maybe it's not a midlife crisis. Maybe it's a midlife unmasking.

Because you can be grateful for what you have and still want something different. You can be a responsible adult and still question the path you're on. And you can start building a new chapter without pretending the first one never happened.

This isn't about blowing up your life or chasing some Instagram version of freedom. It's about getting honest with yourself, figuring out what actually matters, and deciding what you want the next chapter to look like.

    In this episode, we explore:

Why so many millennials feel exhausted despite doing everything they were told to do

The disconnect between the life we were promised and the reality we're living

Career burnout and the fear of starting over

Raising children while trying to break generational cycles

Social media, comparison, and the endless pursuit of success

The pressure to be productive, successful, and emotionally healthy all at once

The great millennial unmasking — questioning who we've become and why

How to start building a life that actually feels like your own

The question is simple: Are you happy with the life you've built, or are you just really good at maintaining it?

Let us know in the comments. We'd love to hear where you're at.
