When a half-built downtown LA condo project turned into the "Graffiti Towers," with 55 stories tagged floor by floor 700 feet in the air, everyone driving past wondered the same thing: how did they do that? On this episode of Sam Brown University TV, we get into the ladders, the logistics, and the eternal question of whether it's vandalism or art (spoiler: it's both).

Joining us is Andre Hyland, an actor and comedian with a fine arts degree from the University of Cincinnati whose graffiti has been shown in museum exhibitions. He talks about painting newspaper boxes and street signs while dressed as a construction worker, the cop stop that almost got him, and how sneaking around the streets shaped his comedy. We're also joined by Bill Dunleavy, director of Superchief Gallery in Los Angeles, who went from bike messenger and photographer to curating hundreds of shows that champion artists working outside the traditional art world. He breaks down the history of graffiti, LA's push to go bigger than everyone else, and what it really takes to haul buckets of paint up a hundred flights of stairs.

Jetski Johnson and Jon Natchez (The War on Drugs, Beirut) sit down and jam with Sam to talk some band. Woodwinds, brass, and tons of laughs. You'll be a master of fingering after this episode - fingering instruments, that is.
