Hello everyone and this week help us welcome LISA TARVES who is an excellent speaker and wonderful guest on the Rick Flynn Presents worldwide podcast.

Lisa Tarves is an author, publisher, podcaster, hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner, life coach, grief support counselor, and longtime advocate for helping people make sense of the thoughts, emotions, and life changes that can feel overwhelming.

She is the founder of Making Sense Press and the host of Real Talk for Your Overthinking Mind, a growing podcast and YouTube community focused on honest, relatable conversations about overthinking, anxiety, relationships, grief, aging, self-doubt, and personal growth. She also hosts The Author Behind the Words, a newer Making Sense Press show that introduces listeners to the person behind the book — the stories, experiences, detours, and ideas that shape an author’s work.

Lisa has spent years working with people through personal transformation, emotional wellness, grief, mindset, and life transitions, and she brings a warm, conversational style to every interview. She is especially comfortable talking about the subjects people think about privately but do not always know how to say out loud.

  • DR. ROBERT A. SAUL - Professor of Pediatrics (Emeritus) at Prisma Health Children's Hospital & Univ. of South Carolina School of Medicine - "What Really Matters; Find Meaning Amid Upheaval" - Ep. 305
    7 Oct 2026

Bob Saul was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in the Chicago area and later moved to Colorado. A graduate of Colorado College and the University of Colorado School of Medicine, he completed pediatric training at Duke University Medical Center and genetic training at the Greenwood Genetic Center. He is Professor of Pediatrics (Emeritus) at the Prisma Health Children's Hospital-Upstate and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine - Greenville, Greenville, SC. He has two grown children, Bradley and Ben, two granddaughters and has been married to his wife, Jan, for over 38 years. He returns to the Rick Flynn Presents worldwide podcast in exchange for promotion of his latest book, co-authored with Michael Cogdill, entitled "What Really Matters: Find Meaning Amid Upheaval". This book was published by Koehler Books on August 18, 2026.

Deciphering what really matters has been the perpetual quest of humankind. Dr. Robert Saul, a pediatrician engaged in teaching children and families how to enhance their childhood and parenting journeys, and Michael Cogdill, a journalist covering the news that impacts the lives of our citizens, contend that truth, trust, science, civility, diversity, and faith are what matter. And unless we embrace what matters, we will lose sight of our common humanity.

What Really Matters explains why and how we are meant to engage with others and improve their lives. With this improvement, we enhance our own existence, becoming better citizens and better stewards of the miracle of life.
