The restoration story of salvation is new. It is not found in the scriptures except for what Joseph Smith put out as a revelation. The Book of Mormon has a different explanation of salvation and what we need to do here and now to obtain it. It is a tremendous difference. What do we choose to believe? In this episode we talk about the difference of Christ's attitude in the Book of Mormon vs. the Doctrine & Covenants and even the Bible in relation to going to the cross. What caused Him to sweat drops of blood in the Garden? Was it fear of pain and the tribulation he was heading towards, asking if he could get out of it? Or was it something else? We look at a preponderance of evidence showing that Jesus was the very eternal God and planned from the beginning to die for us. Many of the prophets testify of this in the Book of Mormon. Are we willing to embrace its teaching at the expense of giving up our past traditions and beliefs when they conflict?

We discuss a couple important discrepancies in RLDS/LDS/Restoration doctrine. We ask the question "what is our foundation"? Many different beliefs occur among current and ex LDS, RLDS, Community of Christ, and all factions of the "Restoration", but why? It comes down to foundations. What do we go to as the standard when beliefs diverge? Freemasonry, the Book of Enoch, the Inspired version or (Joseph Smith's new translation), the Doctrine and Covenants, the Book of Mormon, the Bible? How much does truth matter and what is the source of that truth? The Book of Mormon states we will be judged according to it's words and the knowledge it plainly restored about Christ's simple doctrine and gospel. How much do we value this great gift given to us in these last days? Are we willing to embrace its teaching at the expense of giving up our past traditions and beliefs when they conflict?
