An old orchard at the end of a green lane, a soft rain falling, and apples growing sweeter in the dark. 🍎🌧️

On a mild autumn evening, you step through a weathered gate into an orchard heavy with fruit, just as a gentle rain settles over the rows. You wander beneath old lichen-covered trees and find a dry circle at the foot of the oldest of them. A robin sings along a mossy stone wall, and the beehives hum quietly while the bees wait out the wet. At the lowest corner of the orchard, a lantern has been left burning in the doorway of the apple store. Inside there is a bench, a folded blanket, and a bowl holding the three best apples, set out for whoever might come by. There you sit and listen to the rain in all its layers, near and far, while the orchard goes on ripening without anyone's help.
