Matchmaker, Matchmaker: Aleeza Ben Shalom on Dating Apps, God's First Match, and Why Jewish and Christian Families Share Values
    20 Oct 2026
Why do so many singles feel burned out by dating apps, and what would a professional matchmaker do differently? In this re-release, Laurie Cardoza-Moore sits down with Aleeza Ben Shalom, author of Matchmaker, Matchmaker and the matchmaker behind Netflix's Jewish Matchmaking.

Aleeza shares her rule of thumb that about 90 of every 100 matches should be a no, walks through the first matches in Genesis, and explains how October 7 changed what Jewish singles are looking for. She also talks about why Jewish and Christian families share the same values and why she encourages people to marry within their own faith. Laurie ties it back to the call to defend marriage and family in a culture under attack.

  • Michael Freund: The Hidden Jews the Inquisition Couldn't Erase and the Lost Tribes God Is Bringing Home

Michael Freund: The Hidden Jews the Inquisition Couldn't Erase and the Lost Tribes God Is Bringing Home
    13 Oct 2026
Parents once warned their children never to count stars at night. It was not superstition. It was a survival code, passed down for centuries by families hiding their Jewish faith from the Spanish Inquisition.

In this conversation, Michael Freund, chairman of Shavei Israel, tells the story of the Bnei Anousim, the descendants of Spain's and Portugal's forcibly converted Jews, and of the Bnei Menashe, whose letter from northeast India reached Prime Minister Netanyahu's office in 1997. He explains how the Inquisition pursued secret Jews to Peru, Colombia and Goa, what a 2008 genetic study found in Spain and Portugal, and why he sees the words of the prophets Obadiah and Ezekiel coming to life. We're bringing this conversation back because it is more relevant than ever.

Learn more about Michael's work at shavei.org, and find the free Spanish e-book ¿Tiene usted raíces judías? (Do You Have Jewish Roots?) at https://www.shavei.org/es/roots-ebook/. Follow, share, and support Proclaiming Justice to the Nations at pjtn.org.

  • A Biblical Legacy of Courage: Aner Shapira's Parents Remember the Hero Who Stood at the Shelter Door on October 7

A Biblical Legacy of Courage: Aner Shapira's Parents Remember the Hero Who Stood at the Shelter Door on October 7
    6 Oct 2026
Three years ago, on October 7, 2023, Hamas attacked the Nova festival in southern Israel. Inside a crowded bomb shelter, a 22-year-old off-duty soldier named Aner Shapira promised to throw back any grenade that came through the door. He did it seven times. The eighth took his life. At least seven people in that shelter survived.

In this Focus on Israel conversation, Laurie Cardoza-Moore talks with Aner's mother, Shira, and his father, Moshe. They describe the last meal the whole family shared, the shelter, and the legacy of a young man who wrote music, painted, and stood at the door for strangers. Moshe calls that legacy almost biblical: stand for what is right, and you can beat evil.

The Shapira family carries Aner's music and art forward through the Aner Foundation, which works with young people from every background in Jerusalem. Learn more at anershapiro.com.

As Christians, our biblical responsibility is to stand with Israel and the Jewish people. Follow the Proclaiming Justice podcast, share this episode, and support PJTN at pjtn.org.
