  • Is The Church An Irrelevant Social Club?
    Dec 5 2025

Dee Dee Bass Wilbon and Deana Bass Williams and BPALiveWire Contributor, Dorian Blaine Francis talk about the role of The Church in setting policy. Is the Body of Christ being divided on issues that we should be unified around. Abortion, Transgender Issues, Taxes, Care for the Poor - should there be a unified response to these things?

Romans 10:9 - If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved

Hebrews 10: 24-25 - And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

  • The Gettysburg Address - Four-Score and Seven Years Ago Plus 162 Years
    Nov 19 2025

Today we are celebrating the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s 272-word masterpiece, delivered November 19, 1863.

Join hosts Dorian Francis and George Stephen as they dive into the short, upbeat, and surprisingly controversial story of the speech that redefined America.

    Highlights:

    • Was the Gettysburg Address a flop in 1863? (Spoiler: the old “nobody liked it” story is mostly myth – newspapers and letters from the time went wild for it.)
    • The guy who spoke before Lincoln droned on for almost two hours. Abe wrapped it up in under three minutes. Legend.
    • Lincoln finally says the quiet part out loud: the Civil War is about slavery, full stop.
    • Honoring the dead on both sides – beautiful in 1863, but would Twitter cancel him today for not dragging the Confederates hard enough?
    • “A new birth of freedom” and the big question: Can a nation “so conceived and so dedicated… long endure?”
    • Bonus hot take: America is American democracy really as fragile as everyone keeps yelling, or is it tougher than we think? (We vote tougher.)

Short, punchy, and poundcake-approved – grab your coffee and give it a listen as we toast the speech that still hits 162 years later.

Four score and seven snacks ago… we hit record.

  • Building Men of Valor - Raul Lopez & Genevieve Turner
    Mar 30 2023

This week, #TheBassSisters highlight Men of Valor. A Tennessee-based Christian ministry that works with men in prison. Men of Valor is committed to winning men in prison to Jesus Christ and discipling them. Their purpose is to equip them to re-enter society as men of integrity – becoming givers to the community rather than takers.

According to Men of Valor, nationally, 70% of men released from prison will return to prison.

Raul and Genevieve share how through Bible-based programming, aftercare/re-entry services, and the involvement of committed staff and volunteers, Men of Valor’s success rate beats both national and statewide statistics. In fact, for men who complete Men of Valor’s 6-month program inside the prison and 12-month program outside the prison, the recidivism rate is below 15%.

If 98% of prisoners will someday be released, we must do more than talk about restoration and second changes. Learn more at MOVMinistry.org.

  • Pastors, The Pulpit and Prophetic Zeal - Bishop Garland Hunt
    Mar 24 2023

Dr. Martin Luther King Junior once warned that the church was in danger of losing its prophetic zeal. It would become nothing more than an irrelevant social club.

This week #TheBassSisters talk with Bishop Garland Hunt about why it is important for Christians to be bold and counter-cultural in the face of an aggressive “progressive” agenda that started with redefining marriage and has turned to redefine the definition of the word “woman.”

Bishop Hunt issued a mighty challenge for pastors to stop being MORE influencers and politicians think than what God thinks.

  • Lies About Black People, Fighting Racist Stereotypes on Both Sides of the Aisle
    Mar 16 2023

The Bass Sisters enjoyed a lively discussion with Dr. Omékongo Dibinga. Dr. Dibinga talks about his soon-to-be-released book Lies About Black People; How to Combat Racist Stereotypes and Why it Matters.

Questions they tackle during the conversation:
    1. What are stereotypes?
    2. What responsibility do black content creators have in producing positive images of black people?
    3. What responsibility do black actors have to reject roles that perpetuate false black stereotypes?

The conversation also moved to ideological diversity and stereotypes placed on black conservatives.

Civil discourse flowed as The Bass Sisters and the good doctor parted ways on their views about Florida Governor DeSantis’ decision not to allow an AP African American Studies Course.
    - Is Queer studies fair game for an African American studies course?
    - Is CRT being taught in Virginia schools and schools across America?
    - Are gay teachers in Florida allowed to put their family pics on their desks?
    - What power should parents have over what their kiddos are taught?

  • Corporate Bias Rating - Paul Fitzpatrick
    Mar 9 2023

This week #TheBassSisters talk with Paul Fitzpatrick, President of 1792 Exchange, about the impact and danger of corporate bias. 1792 Exchange's mission is to protect Americans in the marketplace from corporations that push "woke" agendas and silence the free expression of small businesses and employees who do not pass their ideological litmus test.

We have seen the headlines of Americans losing their livelihoods and being stripped from marketplace platforms, from banking institutions to social media platforms, after exercising their first amendment right of freedom of speech.

1792 Exchange recently reviewed and rated over 1,000 companies on their policies and practices to determine how likely the company will cancel a contract, boycott, divest or deny services based on views or beliefs.

By visiting the 1792 Exchange website linked here, a small business can search to see how their vendors rate. Companies are rated Low, Medium and High risk.

  • Side Hustles and Empowering Women with Patrice Onwuka
    Feb 16 2023

This week, #TheBassSisters talk with Patrice Onwuka, Director of the Center for Economic Opportunity, at the Independent Women's Forum (IWF).

Patrice has written extensively on the impact that over-regulation has on the economic stability of America's middle and working-class families.

American families are feeling the squeeze from out-of-control inflation. Patrice talks about how the Biden Administration may bring more grief to hardworking families by overtaxing low-income workers relying on the gig economy.

Patrice also talks about IWF's fight to ensure that protections for biological females are not erased. The fight is taking place on the sports field, in the classroom and local, state and federal governing chambers.

IWF is also working double time to support policies that protect youth. As the number of transgender-indentifying youth has nearly doubled in recent years, IWF is giving voice to those who feel silenced as they push back against the one-sided "affirmation-only" model that promotes experimental drugs and medically invasive surgeries. You must follow their Identity Crisis documentary series. These are the stories the transgender movement does not want you to hear.
