Welcome to another episode of Patients Win! Today, we’re diving into the evolving world of direct specialty care with Dr. Sean Stanga, an allergist who’s redefining patient access and transparency in allergy and immunology. Joined by hosts Dr. Jonathan Bushman and Troy Reichert, we explore the pitfalls of traditional hospital employment, from RVU-driven patient churn to inadequate reimbursement for complex specialty procedures, and how direct care models offer a refreshing alternative.

Dr. Stanga shares his journey from hospital-based pediatrics in North Dakota to pioneering a direct specialty allergy practice in Iowa, breaking down why patients and providers alike are gravitating towards transparent pricing, reduced wait times, and a restored focus on quality, unhurried care. We’ll hear about innovative therapies like intralymphatic immunotherapy, the real impact of insurance reimbursement limitations, and why so many specialists are now reaching out to learn how they too can bring joy and better outcomes back to their practices.

If you’re curious about the future of specialty care, and what happens when patients—and doctors—finally “win,” stay tuned!
