This time, Cheryl picks an episode of These Woods Are Haunted featuring one of her all-time favorite case files, “I’m Looking at a ‘Bleeping’ Werewolf.”

The story follows Roy Stubblefield, whose seemingly ordinary night in 1981 begins with a missed date and an impromptu basketball game before taking a terrifying turn along a dark, wooded stretch of railroad tracks. Roy claims he and his companions encountered a massive, humanlike creature he became convinced was a werewolf, or possibly the Louisiana legend known as the loup-garou. Even stranger, Roy later wondered whether the mysterious woman who stood him up that night might somehow have been connected to the creature.

Cheryl and Karen break down Roy’s story, the show’s dramatic reenactments and the question at the center of any extraordinary encounter: What really happened? Cheryl explains why she finds Roy’s account compelling and shares her belief that creatures resembling werewolves may exist, while Karen approaches the story more cautiously, considering how darkness, fear, and television production can shape how an experience is interpreted.

They also discuss the episode’s second case, involving a couple whose dream home near Big Bear becomes the setting for disturbing activity, frightening encounters and what they believe may be a malevolent entity. Along the way, Cheryl and Karen talk haunted houses, paranormal warning signs, trauma, and more.
