Kory of Prince Daddy & The Hyena put out, potentially, my emo album of the year “Hotwire Trip Switch”. Over the years Prince Daddy has been one of the powerhouse bands of the emo, with aggressive touring, consistent music, and just quality from all corners. Kory has been embedded in the scene starting from a local show runner, fast forward now to being a national touring artist.

In this episode we talk about: running shows in upstate NY, how to be original after so many years, why it’s good to feel unsafe, their recent album “Hotwire Trip Switch” & maybe just maybe the origin of the beloved name… “Prince Daddy & The Hyena” + more.

*Thank you to Invisible City Sound Archive for sponsoring this episode! Invis City is an amazing underground label, based in Albany, NY, putting out some of the coolest releases. Invisible City Sound Archive is currently looking at demos, please send to invis.city@gmail.com .

It is my pleasure and honor I’m able to finally release this episode with the great Jay Weinberg. Over an almost two hour long conversation we cover the entire span of Jay’s career. From his first bands, touring with Bruce, joining Madball to being in Slipknot, fast forward to now releasing his singles project. If you’re a Jay Weinberg fan, like me, this is the episode for you.

In this episode with talk about: NJ vs NY hardcore, getting the call from Bruce, finding bands on My Space, recording an EP in a day with a super group, collaboration between his different environments, & most importantly his new single’s project involving (as of now) George Clarke (Deafheaven), Softcult, Fotocrime & more!

Thank you to Dan from A Day In The Life Records for sponsoring this week’s episode. Make sure when you’re in downtown Lancaster you stop by his shop to browse his fine selection of all things alternative.

Seattle based punk rocker, Rev of The Drowns & I settle in for a chat. The Drowns have been a music machine since the birth of the band: constantly touring, putting out music, playing festivals & more. This past week, September 18th, they put out LP four “Harsh Reality” on Pirates Press Records. This record is exactly what people love about punk, it’s punchy, meaningful, and encourages listeners to stand up in a time where everyone wants to be seated!

In this episode we talk about: getting on Pirates Press Records, being a 3 piece, why music needs to be political, getting received overseas, and their new record “Harsh Reality” available on all physical formats as well as your streaming service of choice.
