🎙️ In this episode, Jimmy and Josh break down how contractors can generate free leads starting tomorrow—without relying on referrals or waiting for “slow season” to end. They dive deep into door-to-door and next-door neighbor marketing, how to run it consistently, and how to train a team so it doesn’t depend on you forever.

🎙️ You will hear:
- Why door-knocking is still the #1 “free lead” lever (and why most contractors quit too early)
- The best time windows to knock (and how to boost door-open rates)
- How many houses you should hit daily to create a real pipeline
- The exact conversation approach: open-ended questions that keep the door open (literally)
- How to train door-knockers with role-play + a simple shadowing plan
- How to capture leads on the spot (clipboard/iPad setup) and track your numbers (opens → convos → estimates → booked jobs)
- Why lawn signs + active job sites turn one project into multiple booked neighbors

🎙️ In Episode 26, Josh and Jimmy break down one of the most important (but most overlooked) pieces of building a scalable contracting business: SOPs — Standard Operating Procedures.

They dive deep into how to build systems that remove chaos, eliminate mistakes, and allow you to finally step back from the day-to-day without losing control of quality. From checklists to videos, enforcement to accountability, this episode shows you how top contractors turn unpredictable jobs into consistent, repeatable results.

If you’ve ever said “I feel chained to my business,” this is the episode that shows you exactly how to fix it.

🎙️ You will hear:
- The #1 criterion of a great SOP (hint: a random person off the street should be able to follow it)
- Why SOPs create predictability — and why predictability creates freedom
- How McDonald’s-style systems make painting companies run smoother than ever
- Why “telling your crew what to do” will always fail without a written checklist
- How to enforce SOPs without micromanaging
- Why updating SOPs is never a one-time task
- How AI tools like ChatGPT can draft SOPs in minutes
- The SOPs every painting business must have: start-of-job, mid-job communication, and end-of-job checklist
- Why skipping SOPs leads to customer frustration, miscommunication, and lost payments
- How to build a business that runs when you’re not on the job site

If you’re heading into the new year without a clear plan, this episode will show you how to stop guessing, start tracking, and build a business that actually supports the life you want.
