À propos de ce contenu audio

Sometimes being an OBGYN can be really hard. But, if you don't laugh about certain things, you'll cry.

That's how I feel about residency. Man, was it tough, but the memories and camaraderie i had with my fellow trainees help me cope with past and present. We have so many stories to tell that seem to resonate with junior and senior OBGYN's alike, no matter where one practices OBGYN. One thing's for sure, most TV shows can't capture one molecule of how intense or insane it can be at times.

Together, with my old residency classmates and colleagues, we will share crazy scenarios as well as our own mistakes, which helped us find our way to becoming excellent and successful physicians and surgeons.

I have 15+ years of experience and I would like to share my pearls of wisdom with you.

    • Pearls of Wisdom: The COVID Generation
      Oct 7 2025

Join us as we revisit the hospital during it's arguably scariest time: COVID 19. These three former residents led the OBGYN service with courage and managed to still practice excellent medicine in spite of the many difficulties they faced and personal fears they harbored. During the course of our very interesting conversation, I realized how much I had blocked out. It all seems like such a distant memory, though was only 5 years ago. Oddly, memories much older stand out in my mind much more vividly, but for these 3 former residents, this experience was formative, influential, and harrowing. Einstein, as it is described in this episode, is a magical place, for better or for worse. Please join us as we hear their perspective on residency and being a junior attending.

    • OBGYN Pearls of Wisdom: Twisting the Night Away
      Aug 26 2025

Join Dr. Judith Levy and Dr. Nanci Levine as they illustrate in vivid detail, what residency was like for strong female doctors in the early 1980s and how their careers unfolded over the next few decades. They take us through #metoo experiences long before there was a movement and they describe long hours toiling away at work, long before there were work hour limitations. We explore sexism in the workplace, including salary inequality, and delve into the evolution of medicine as a beloved career to one based on the bottom line, as enforced by the system.

This episode is profound on many levels and these strong and intelligent women eloquently lead us through a history lesson.
