Welcome to Not Me, But You! This is likely one of the most ironically titled podcasts since the focus is designed to be on the podcast listeners rather than the podcast creator. I spent half of my life as a school administrator and I want to share with you what I've learned about education, teaching, learning, reaching your goals, attaining your dreams, developing relationships, encouragement, motivation, business, income, and money. My desire is to shine some "psychological sunshine" onto your thinking. I believe it's possible for you and me to attain our dreams in life. But often, many of us need a good teacher, a good mentor, and a good cheerleader in order to help us along the way.

I am confident that you will learn some things from me. But more importantly I want to learn something from you. I will share what I'm passionate about. But I also want to discover what you are passionate about. And by listening, you will discover how to set goals, how to track goals, how to achieve goals, how to select a good "guru" or mentor or teacher or advisor, how to make money and save money. And most of all, I want you to discover what is your most valuable asset and how to gain freedom in your life. (Answer: your most valuable asset is your TIME). How do we do that? By buying and holding assets. But we need to learn which assets are best for us. You can become wealthy by pushing buttons on your phone!

***-This is time sensitive information ****

We discuss why I am likely NOT participating in the annual rights offering that CLM/CRF will undergo. Why? The short answer: because share price is at a historic low and I can simply buy the shares on the open market at discount to the NAV (net asset value) price.

I do NOT have a crystal ball but I expect the share price of CLM to rise to $7 to $8/share by the 2nd quarter of 2027. So the annual rights offering (chance to buy shares at a discount to the NAV price) has not happened yet. So we need to let the annual rights offering play out, see how much shareholder participation there is and then some time will need to pass in order for the share price to stabilize. Historically, CLM has performed well after annual rights offerings. History is no guarantee of future results.

A VP of Cornerstone, the company that owns CLM fund/CRF fund recently bought 16,000 shares at around $6/share. Why? Because this person is getting the shares at a discount. This individual invested about $98,000! I was able to purchase shares at LESS than $6/share on the open market. Easy, peasy lemon squeezy!

If you like T-bills, Treasury bills the 10 year bill is paying about 4.9%! So IF you lock up your money for 10 years, you are "guaranteed" to make 4.9% on your money OVER a 10 year period. Not a great deal in my opinion. I can beat that return easily by simply investing on my own in the market.

The annual rights offering sounds technical. It is a feature of owning shares of CLM/CRF but it is NOT the MAIN feature of owning CLM/CRF. The primary feature is the chance to grow your account by REINVESTING dividends for shares where we can have the opportunity to "drip at the NAV" IF we own the shares at certain online brokerages.

If you are going to own shares of CLM/CRF and ALSO IF you own the shares at brokerages that offer a TRUE "drip at the NAV" share price, then you can earn an effective yield of OVER 21%/year. So even though CLM /CRF are dividend assets, we aren't taking the actual dividend money each month and instead are buying shares a discount (drip at the NAV) to grow our accounts.

World events can certainly have an effect on investment markets such as the current USA/Iran war has put a drag on the USA stock market this year.

Have courage today, to pick one thing, and work on your dreams. We will talk again soon!

  • Sea: 3 - Ep- #51 - What Is This Cryptocurrency Crap?! (Review Of Movie: "Everyone Is Lying To You For Money")

This episode contains my reactions to a movie about cryptocurrency which includes Bitcoin. Actor Ben McKenzie(not his real name which is Ben McKenzie Schenkkan) made a documentary movie about cryptocurrency called: "Everyone Is Lying To You For Money." By the way, as an aside and to help put things into context, Ben McKenzie is a multi-millionaire! Good for him. But can a multi-millionaire who has a net worth GREATER than 98% of Americans, relate to the common person? Possibly.

Ben McKenzie's movie does accurately speak about some fraudsters how became wealthy in cryptocurrency and unfortunately some people also lost money using the "coins" and/or crypto exchanges that these fraudsters built (see Celsius and FTX networks for more information). But this movie also entirely misses the point about Bitcoin's advantages.

The movie also does not speak about Bitcoin moving in a 4 year cycle- meaning in order to make money (profit) and see "number go up" you have to buy Bitcoin/hold Bitcoin for at least 4 years! The movie never speaks about this very obvious fact that most Bitcoin investors realize.

We live in a digital economy whether we own Bitcoin or not. How often do you pay for things either in person/online with cash as compared to how often do you use a credit car/debit card to pay for things? The movie also does not speak about the digital economy in which we already live. Your bank account statement balance, your brokerage account statement balance, your 401K statement balance, ALL are DIGITAL entries. Think about it!

The movie seems to indicate that people should trust the banking system. Does Ben McKenzie believe that the bank keeps his cash in a little drawer with his name on it at the bank, waiting for him or his wife to come ask to withdraw some of the cash? It's absurd to NOT understand how our banking system actually works in 2026 when anyone can utilize an internet connection to research it.

The movie does NOT cover that several countries around the world continue to print MORE fiat currency. And the movie also does NOT highlight the advantage that Bitcoin has over ANY fiat currency is that there will only ever be, 21 Million Bitcoin on the planet. Scarcity can make things very valuable!

The movie also doesn't speak about how someone can buy/hold Bitcoin and become very wealthy, just at Ben McKenzie has become very wealthy. Although Bitcoin does not pay me ANY dividends, it also does not cost me money-meaning I don't have to pay taxes to hold it, I don't need to get an insurance policy to own it etc. (the way I would have to do if I bought/held/owned real estate).

Another feature of Bitcoin that makes it different from using the standard banking system is: I can transfer payments to anywhere on the planet, WITHOUT being forced to utilize a CENTRAL clearing house/or a BANKING institution sitting in the middle of that transfer!

Ever since Covid in 2019/2020 when there was a TON of money printing done...prices have gone UP dramatically. There HIGHER prices are simply the "new normal." They prices don't temporarily go up and then go back down!! This is INFLATION at work in our economy. And the price of ENERGY can cause prices for ANY physical good to go up since FUEL is used to truck/deliver goods all over the USA!

History is full of examples where governments debased the money over time to the point where it almost became worthless (see Roman Empire, Weimar Germany, Venezuela, Zimbabwe etc.).

Have courage today, to pick one thing, and work on your dreams. We will talk again soon.

STRC is a place where I park cash to earn 12% per year on my money. STRC is a Bitcoin play. If you believe in Bitcoin then this an asset you may want to consider. STRC is tied to the company MSTR which holds over 700,000 Bitcoin on their company balance sheet. Earlier this year, the price of STRC dropped in the $70 range. If you believed the alleged "news" reports/predictions you might have been scared into panic selling. But for people that held on and continued to buy shares, they were rewarded when the price recovered to $99/share.

STRC pays a dividend TWO times per month! Entry points when investing CAN matter. But it's best to look forward and not focus on what already happened. What can you accomplish today? Focus on that.

I started in field of education before switching to the healthcare field. I walked away from a "guaranteed" pension and then learned how to create my own "pension" through investing.

What do wealthy people do when they get "new" money into their bank account? Answer: they look to buy ASSETS. What do poor people do when they get "new' money? Answer: they look to buy THINGS! If you buy things, the money is gone forever. If you buy assets that pay dividends, you have INCOME consistently.

It takes courage to be a successful investor because it involves taking risks. The same is true of great leaders-it takes courage to be a great leader.

QQQI and SPYI remain solid places to put money where I earn a decent ROI(return on investment) but NOT a great return. But the RISK level is low when compared to very HIGH yield/high RISK assets like MSTY/ULTY.

Many people who are NOT already wealthy, will likely find it difficult to BECOME wealthy if you ONLY invest in very LOW yield/low risk assets. It's possible, but you need to have BOTH a lot of TIME and a lot of MONEY to accomplish this.

MSTR is a company that has Billions of dollars held in Bitcoin on the company balance sheet. What is the statistical likelihood that this company will go bankrupt?

Learn from failure. Don't fear failure.
