Musing Autoimmune is a reflective journey through the hidden landscapes of illness—where unfamiliar symptoms, lived experience, medical knowledge, and the body’s own wisdom intersect.

Hosted by Linda, who lives with Giant Cell Arteritis and Polymyalgia Rheumatica, Season One explores autoimmune disease and the conditions that can mimic, accompany, or complicate it. Through personal reflection, careful observation, and a willingness to question, Musing Autoimmune follows the journey from unfamiliar symptoms to recognition, diagnosis, and the pursuit of well-being.

This is not a journey toward perfect answers. It is an invitation to become more literate in our own bodies—to listen, record, question, learn, and find meaning in every flare and every flow.

  • Polymyalgia Rheumatica: When Movement Becomes Memory
    Oct 14 2026

We rarely think about movement until the body makes us remember what it once felt like to move without thought.

In this episode, Linda explores Polymyalgia Rheumatica and its sudden intrusion into the ordinary rhythms of daily life. Rising, reaching, turning, walking -- movements once performed without consideration can become negotiations between intention and pain. Through her own experience with PMR, Linda reflects on what happens when movement becomes memory and the body asks us to pay attention to something we once took for granted.

  • Interlude 1: The Dormant Years
    Sep 30 2026

What happens in the years before an autoimmune disease makes itself known? The Dormant Years reflect on the quiet space between what the body may already know and what we have yet to understand. An invitation to look backward - not with regret, but with curiosity - and ask what our bodies may have been trying to tell us all along.

  • Giant Cell Arteritis: When the Invisible Becomes Visible
    Sep 16 2026

What happens when an invisible illness finally becomes visible - not through the disease itself, but through the treatment required to control it?

Linda begins Season 1 with Giant Cell Arteritis, the autoimmune disease that changed the trajectory of her own life. She reflects on the symptoms that whispered before they demanded attention, the urgency of diagnosis, and the physical changes that followed treatment. GCA becomes the starting point for a larger exploration: learning to recognize what cannot always be seen and finding language for a body whose story is still unfolding.
