We chatted with Sophie Mahar from Community Integrated Care and Glen Roberts, the Head Chef at Langtree Care Home, about the importance of dining in care, not only for nutritional purposes, but also for social interaction and personal choice.

Off the back of Volunteer Week, we sat down with Julie Guy and Ray Taylor, volunteers at two of our care homes, and Kerry Smalley, Deputy Manager at our Wigan-based home, Norley Hall.

Together, they discussed the powerful impact of volunteering in care, not just for residents, but for the volunteers themselves. Julie shared how volunteering has helped keep her mum’s memory alive, while Ray spoke about how it gave him his life back after losing his wife to Alzheimer’s.
