  • S2E5: Estrangement - Loving From a Distance
    26 Oct 2026

What happens when a relationship grows quiet, but the love does not?

In this deeply personal episode, I speak from the middle of family estrangement—not from a neat ending or a fully repaired relationship. I share what it means to love people I can no longer reach in the ordinary ways, to grieve years and moments that keep moving, and to accept that love does not give any of us permission to cross another person’s boundaries.

This conversation makes room for the complicated truths estrangement can hold at the same time: love and pain, accountability and self-compassion, hope and uncertainty, faith and surrender. We talk about why reconciliation cannot simply mean returning to the relationship as it was, how the person who stepped away may be grieving too, and why one person cannot complete repair alone.

I also share what I am learning about honoring another person’s private story, allowing my own life to keep moving, and trusting God with the people and outcomes I cannot control.

This is not a conversation about choosing sides or pressuring anyone to return to a relationship that feels harmful or unsafe. It is about learning how to live honestly and tenderly when we do not know the ending.

    The distance can be real.
    The grief can be real.
And the love can still be real too.

Reflection question: What would it look like to hold hope without asking it to become a guarantee?

  • Season 2 Episode 4: Boundaries Without Guilt
    19 Oct 2026

For years, I thought boundaries were harsh—the kind of thing people used when a relationship was already breaking. I believed loving people meant staying available, keeping the peace, and saying yes before I ever stopped to ask whether yes was honest.

In this deeply personal episode, I share what I am learning about boundaries: they are not rules for controlling someone else, and they are not punishment. They are honest clarity about what I can give, what I will participate in, and what I need in order to remain present without abandoning myself.

We talk about pausing before an answer, listening to what resentment may be trying to tell us, and why follow-through can feel so difficult when tension remains unresolved. We also make an important distinction: there is a difference between taking time to process and using silence to punish someone.

I share how my youngest daughter helped me understand the value of healthy boundaries—and the humility of remembering that the boundaries of the people we love matter just as much as our own. With honesty, faith, and compassion, this conversation makes room for a truth many of us are still learning:

You can care deeply without abandoning yourself.

If saying no has ever made you feel selfish, if you have mistaken immediate relief for real resolution, or if you are learning how to love someone without disappearing inside the relationship, pull up a chair. I’ve been saving you a seat.

  • S2E1: The Masks We Wear In Midlife
    12 Oct 2026

Season 2 Episode 3The Masks We Wear in Midlife“I’m fine” has had many meanings in my household—and perhaps it has in yours, too.In this deeply personal episode, I talk about the masks women learn to wear in midlife: the strong one, the easygoing one, the caretaker, the peacemaker, the woman who keeps smiling, stays quiet, and tries to make everyone else comfortable.Sometimes a small question receives a larger reaction because it lands on top of everything we have not said. Then the reaction becomes the focus, while the feelings beneath it remain hidden. This conversation explores what happens when those masks begin to feel too heavy—how honesty can change a relationship, why privacy is different from pretending, and how boundaries, forgiveness, accountability, faith, and repair can exist together. I share what I am learning in my marriage and in my own life: understanding another person does not require misunderstanding myself, and forgiveness does not mean pretending there is nothing to work through.Taking off a mask does not mean telling everyone everything. It means learning to tell yourself the truth, choosing safe people, and allowing your needs and feelings to exist without apology. You can be strong without hiding every struggle.Reflection question: Which version of “I’m fine” do you use most often, and what truth is it protecting?Midlife With MelissaI’ve been saving you a seat.DISCLOSURE & RESOURCESContent note: This episode includes personal discussion of emotional overwhelm, relationship strain, sensitivity, boundaries, forgiveness, and repair.
